Background:
I purchased the car in the summer of 91' it was a trade-in at a dealership that I was working at in Mawhah,NJ. The car has been through its stages just like any other mustang trying to get faster. I had a wreck in 93' it was hit front and rear, thats when I decided to upgrade the look from a 86gt to 93gt, I read an article in MM&FF on how to do the swap. It looked simple enough so we did some part swapping some body work and painted it black. Then the bolt ons came in to play, flowmasters and a gear but 13sec time slips just was'nt doing it for me. Thats when those MM&ff - super ford issues are nothing but trouble, I read an article on run 11's with an ATI Procharger. Its a story they did with Larroca, hell thats all I needed to read thats when the trouble really started. I bought the kit and 11 second time slips where mine. I ran blowers from that point on til last year, I've been running my same 342 engine for well over 5 years with blowers I've had good times with a blower but I kept seeing turbo cars with about the same or smaller cubes making a ton of power. I talked to Greg from PTK about making the switch. After about 6 months of calling him every other week I decided to take the car to him for one of there thumper kits. We got the car back swapped cams, took it to the track and Iv'e been smiling ever since. I look back on my 1st year with a turbo and I definately call it a big learning curve. I think the 04 race season is going to be alot of fun. We plan to run COTT true10.5 - NMRA drag radial? (still testing tires) - outlaw EZ street
( we hold the record 5.52@132 on dots ). I would like to thank PTK, BB&T racing, Fox-lake, Probe, Precision Industries, Nex-Level race carsof Memphis and last but not least my family.
