Background:
This
car was originally purchased off from E-bay for $1500 from a guy in Houston
TX. It was a bone stock 5 speed car with about 140.000 miles on it and was
pretty clean or so I thought. I had intended it to be a daily driver for
my tour in Germany as I am a service member and was moving to Germany thanks
to the Army. I wanted a Mustang to bring with me and originally thought
I just wanted a plain old 5.0. Well I should have known better as I had
a 393 stroker sitting in my garage and a good C-4 for the motor but originally
was intended for an 86 convertible that was all set up and wanted to wait
until I got back from Germany to install the motor and tranny in the vert.
Well after driving the coupe for say a week I started to get the itch for
power, so I pulled then 5.0 and T-5 and most of the interior and sent the
car to have a cage installed. Once the cage was in I took every thing I
could out the convertible and put it in the coupe see my original intent
was to have a matching pair of 86's but going to Germany for three years
that got shot to heck. After two short months of building the coupe was
on the track and went 12.0 in El Paso TX with lots of help from the guys
at Texas Hot Rods. Thanks Brian!! After driving the car N/A for a while
I got the itch again for more power and I started my search for a power
adder. I was looking for a centrifugal blower first and then I found Turbomustangs.com.
I think I spent almost every free second reading threads on this site, well
you guys sold me on turbos so started searching for turbo kits and such
and decided to go DIY and built the first kit on the ca r. Building that
kit and running turbos for the first time has changed me forever. I will
never own anything but a turbo car again and unfortunately for me I love
Twins. The DIY build took me about a month to get it all in the car and
everything plumbed as it should be.
I ran the car all last year like that had a couple problems but now that
I have learned to tune turbo car I have came off my chain and the current
build up has started stay tuned for a wild ride and the entire build I hope
to hit 1400 rwhp stay tuned.
Now this year I have lots of help from many people Rick Fenton of FCP and
FuelAB is helping with the intercooler and fuel system, Brian at B&G
custom Turbo is build me a set of kick ass headers and down pipes, Anthony
Jones of AJERacing is helping me set up my front end and keep it off the
rear bumper with some wheelie bars, Keith Craft is building me a kick ass
short block, ET performance is doing some CNC porting on my heads and Intake
and Harold at Dynamic Racing Transmissions is building me a bullet proof
Power Glide. This should give you all an idea of what is going on this winter.
