6-22-04:
What happens when a motivated somebody gets a wild hair up their ass?  Follow along here and find out.  For the past few weeks Steve Cole (feature car Dec 2002) has been making changes to his 89LX to make it less race car and more street car.  Changes included a hydraulic roller cam and a smaller IC so the radiator could get more flow in this 110 degree heat.  The car still went 10.60 @ 130mph at 5psi with 114mph in the 1/8th.  On 10psi it went into the 9's @ 144mph.  Apparently that still wasnt enough so Saturday, June 19th Steve started a new project...transferring all his parts over to a pristine stock 95 GT nicknamed Barney because of its purple hue.  Barney has a little history.  It was the original project car that AEM engineers used to get the first Mustang AEM EMS running on.  The car has ridiculously low miles and its only modification is the AEM EMS...until now.

Here is how everything looked on June 22nd:
Before: All Stock (6/19)   The 89
After: (6/21) Front suspension transferred Pile o' Parts

(6/22)

The plan for this car is simple enough.  Transfer all the go fast parts from the 89 minus the racier stuff like the powerglide, dry sump, etc.  The 95 will use a TKO-600. It will also use the AEM with stock 95 electronics, no more crank and cam sensor or coil packs.  Parts of the turbo kit will transfer over to the 95 as well but new headers will need to be made.  The interior will remain 10000% stock, no gauges, no cage, nothing.  Just a street car...with about 1000 hp.
