S488 custom turbine housing
« on: January 02, 2008, 06:32:03 AM »

I had a 1.32A/R turbine housing on a 306 sbf.  It was a bit laggy.  I wanted a bit more response without loosing alot of top end.  I tracked down a custom turbine housing to try.  It is a milled out s300 1.10A/R housing.  It had the correct downpipe flage and to my suprise was a direct bolt on for the stock 1.32 housing.  I will add a two step next for use at the strip.  I launched at 5 lbs 3500-3800 rpm in the New video.  The old video I launched at 12lbs and spun.  I have access to another turbine housing if anyone is interested.  Let me know your thoughts sorry there is not a shot on the gauges.

so iS the new housing one still a T6? You can get the s400 series turbos in a 1.32 or 1.10 right from the factory.

The two step would fix it.  We put two and three steps into to everything.

Yes the new housing is still a t-6.  I was unaware of a 1.10 turbine housing for a standard S400.  Since the housing I have is a 1.10A/R, for a smaller wheel, milled out it is more like a .90A/R.
