Your car sounds great!  My car has almost the exact same combination but it's not running yet. Sad  Have you ever had it dynoed to see what it makes?

Havent dynod it, but by basic feel of the car compared to some others I have driven which i know the numbers my guess is 400ish right now at 8 psi.  Shouldnt have a problem hitting 600-750 on my setup.  I am going to murillos to have it tuned next tuesday for a very safe wg spring tune, which will be my 10 lb spring.  Then I want a 500 hp mild street tune, and a 600 track tune.  We will see how it turns out.  I will have vids and documentation of all of it.

Is that the f303?

Mine still has a bit of the bumpity bumpity sound even with the turbo's.  I can tune it so it sounds more or less aggressive via. timing and fuel adjustments…but for now, this is how it sounds.  http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3f193ee2-3089-440b-b132-99ea0150d4a0.htm

That sounds wicked!

Hey I'm dropping a 76mm Precision with .96 Turbine on my 406 Poncho motor...I am changing the rods and pistons for lower compression but the cam thats in it is lumpy...

Will I be able to get away with 240/246 @.050 Duration with .507"/.510" lift on a 110 CL? at least for a few months or a year? I know its not optimum whatsoever...But will it hurt anything to use it? I have to do my work in stages. The cam is a easy swap slated for later.

It sounds baddass right now with that cam & 10.5.1 compression. But At 8.1 I think it'll sound different.

If you are going to have the motor all torn apart anyway why not just throw in a off the shelf cam that would be more turbo friendly?  Less duration @ .050 and with wider lobe separation.  For example...

Comp hydraulic flat tappet cam part #51-116-3

 230 int. 240 exh. @ .050,
lift of .516" for int. and exh.,
and a lobe separation of 114*.

You could probably keep your springs that you have now, and later down the road get that custom cam.

I was told by CompCams that they do not have "off-the-shelf" turbo cams.
That's why they are grinding me a custom camshaft for my turbo SBC application.

Oh wait....maybe they do stock cams for Ford turbos...  hmmm? Doh!

The cam I quoted was right out of the catalog.  It's for a Pontiac and not a "turbo" cam.  Of course they will say they don't have OTS turbo cam, making you a custom cam will be more profitable.  Besides most people on this site  would not have Comp make their custom turbo cam anyway.

My point was that while he had the motor apart he could put a more turbo friendly cam in, not specifically a "turbo" cam.

Good luck with your project.

Nice !!!!   Hey I see that your fuel pump assembly is placed above your sump outlet.   I guess that's working for you but I thought that was a NO-NO.

I have to disagree (along with the others that beat me to it Wink ) .   I was quite happy with my old Comp Cam Xtreme Energy Solid Flat Tappet camshaft.   It sounded awesome and was perfect for my moderate street 383 SBC.   If the new turbo CompCam works half as good as my old cam, I'll be just fine.
 Cool

not a custom cam, and totally missing my point.  Also, not to get in a pissing match but no one disagreed with me in the previous posts.

Like I said good luck with your project.
