4" Open Downpipe
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:49:31 PM »

Is anyone running a 4" open down pipe?
I'm thinking about running that on my 306 with a t74gtsh .96 a/r,i'm just gonna run it to the bellhousing for raceing and if i want to take it on the street i'll have a 4" exhaust made.
I am looking to make my turbo spool a little faster and make a litte more H.P.

ALSO if anyone has a sound clip of a 4" dowpipe please post it up

I run a 4" downpipe to the rear axle, and turns out in front of the back tire.  No muffler.  Kinda loud, but not louder than my mustang with 3" flows and dumps.

I ran 4" open DP on my T76. Dumped with a turn-down just past the bellhousing.
It was not much louder than when I had it running to behind the seat with a muffler and dump before the axle. The muffler was built by me and did next to nothing for sound but it got by on tracks that required it.

Now that I'm upgrading my combo, I'm running 5" open DP

i run a 4" down pipe no muffler.. kicks out behind my passenger front tire...combo is 360" motor with s475...
Its loud in the high rpms, cruisin is alright....when it idles it sounds like a boat

my old combo i switched from a 3" w/muffler with the MPT70 to the 4" open and it spooled the turbo to max boost (7psi) 300rpm quicker
