Awesome runs!!!!

Hope you don't mind but I do have a couple of questions:

-What kind of suspension set up do you have?

-How much psi do you have in your tires?

-What rpm do you launch at?

-What are your rear gears?

Our setups are almost identical except for the auto.  For the life of me I can't get my 60' below 2.0. My best 60" for the year is 2.106.

Awesome runs!!!!

Hope you don't mind but I do have a couple of questions:

-What kind of suspension set up do you have? D&D front "k" member, coil overs lakewood struts.  Team Z upper control arms, Wolfe lowers, gt rear springs, lakewook shocks.

-How much psi do you have in your tires? 15 rear, 30 front

-What rpm do you launch at? 4700 on the two step.

-What are your rear gears? 3.08

Our setups are almost identical except for the auto.  For the life of me I can't get my 60' below 2.0. My best 60" for the year is 2.106.

What turbo are you running?

Do you have a two/three step?

Congrats man!!!  Cheers!

Whats your A/F look like in the top of 3rd? I see a lot of black smoke from your car going out the back door... maybe theres some more mph left in the tune on the big end?  Smiley

I have not looked at the A:F on the big end since I richened it up a little after I took the flowmasters off.  The target is set around 11:1. If you were looking at the first video ( First link) I puked up some trans fluid starting @ 1000ft.  Do you see fuel in the second video?  I do have a Wideband on my to get list.

The 2nd vid looks good, the 1st looked like a crop duster.  Puking up trans fluid would explain the smoke on the big end.  Glad to see you running such good times, I have to get my car out... I just have to.

I hope you won't take offense at this, but I think your car should be running much faster than it currently is, especially with the parts you have on that car. The thing that concerns me is your low MPH, especially with that turbo making over 20lbs of boost. That s488 moves ALOT of air and will make big power, especially at the boost pressures you are running. For goodness sakes, you were making almost 30lbs of boost on that one run. You should be going at least 150mph, even if you don't ET for crap.

Again, I'm not knocking you at all. I know how hard it is to get things sorted out. I've been working on my setup for a couple of years now. I'm just wondering if you have something wrong some where, that's all. If I can help in any way, just let me know.

No offence taken, I agree.  The second run @ 27psi I aborted.  The converter was useless. You could not tell the difference between 1st and 3rd.  I let off and ran 13.2@102.  The numbers I posted are for the first run @ 20psi and the 3rd run @ 21psi.  Never the less I believe a larger tighter converter would do my combo alot of good.

Either its time to upgrade the C-4 or ditch it entirely in favor of a TH-400 or a built AOD.

Thanks!  I have learned alot trying to get this combo to work.  If I had to do it again it may be a little different, but too late for that now.   If I get the converter to work I will be all set.  I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve.  Larger and a little tighter converter, pig rich on the foot brake stall, lean and mean on the transbrake, and a set of plugs that won't foul in the process...  Hmmm

The turbo you have will make BIG power, but sounds like your blowing through the convertor possibly. That mph is well down from where it should be.

Yea I am killing the converter, I am looking at a 9" Race or a 10" converter.  I have some core value in the converter I have now, so do I let Dynamic Converters build the new one or do I sell the one I have and have someone else build it?  I am looking for the magic converter that does allow my weak 8:1comp 306 spool and does not allow the beast @ 25-30psi blow through it.  It might be a unicorn converter?  Any suggestions on who I should talk to?

I had good luck with ptc also.....I swapped from a c4 to a th400 and a better convertor and picked up 4 tenths in the 1/8 and about 5mph on the same tune.... I kept breaking the c4, I would definatly think about up grading the tranny to a th400 or a glide before you spend a 1000 bucks on one for the c4 they aren't half as tough.. awesome car and good luck

Mike my boss broke his tranny at Pinks/sonoma , and came across these guys www.specriteconverters.com at the track with a spare trans for lease. He said the car worked better than ever with there converter. " Pull hardest out the hole and data logged only 4% slip " Keep in mind we had tryed 3 other converters before eqauting to softer launches and more slip. Call em PEACE
