Last Thursday I loaded the car up and headed out to a track doing a test and tune session. I did take the old wore out drag radials off the 4v car and threw them on the GT to try and see what would happen. I never really was able to do anything good in the 60' but overall I was pretty happy. It went to the track in the same form I drive it daily and on the same amount of boost, 8psi with our On 3 turbo Results (best pass) 60'-1.97 1/8 8.11 mph 92.96 1/4 12.39 mph 115.42 I did run one pass going 12.44 but trapped 116.55 so I feel confident with a little more time with this car at the track I might be able to get an 11 second pass. I guess we will find out tomorrow if Im able to get back out to the track for 3-4 more passes. I need to get a shifter in the car as well. I still have the stock shifter and trying to bang gears with that thing is not fun. VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2lANN3VxMs I do have a video of a pass on my digital camera so the quality is weak but Ill post that up for the fun of it later too

As soon as the camera is charged, Ill post it up on my youtube and throw it on here too.
Suspension up front is the qa1 kmember and a arms with gms coil overs. For the rear I just hacked a coil off for the mean time just so it sat even but Im going to put a set of motorsport rear springs on there eventually. the tires were just some wore out bfg drag radial on the rear, Im going to pick up a set of welds for the track and mt drag radials from craigslist. There was a pretty good deal on there I didnt want to miss and still have these wheels and tires for winter driving.

Im going to add just 1psi, just put the stock spring in the wastegate and dial it in with a manual controller right at 9psi. I think between that and some more driving, Ill get it in the 11's, I just really want to hit that mark under 10psi.
I didnt want to mess around with that stuff before I made passes with the car how its daily driven. I still think I could get into the 11's the way it was but I never said I was the best driver, I need practice at the track. It has the mph, just need to drive the damn thing

Not too bad for one of those V8s... My 3.8 v6 turbo, stock block went 12.1 @ 123 on michelin pilots with my tool box still in the car I drove it from class, thru tech, and into the staging lanes with zero prep. That thing needs a tune or more boost. Otherwise, I'm thinkin something is wrong. Boost leak perhaps?

Boost leak perhaps? you traped 7 mph faster then him and only whent .3 faster in the 1/4???? as much as i been around my local track (ATCO NJ) when your traping that fast you should be going well into the 11s as evident by my buddies vid here
98tadriver+new+personal+best+%40+atco he ran a 11.9 at 113mph. so im assuming something is wrong with your car! as his times (ON 3) and speed sound about right as yours seems to have a mojor prob. even with a tool box in the back you still have a lighter V6 and if anything the tool box in the back gave you more grip off the line. im not sticking up for On 3 in anyway but if i see BS im gona call you on it. so unless i can see a time slip or a vid. im not beliving it.

This is a car I drive to school and home atleast one a month, a 800 mile trip that I get 30+ mpg. I have Michelin Pilots at 35psi air pressure and since this is my TRUE daily driver, I don't launch it too hard because the transmission is stock. Its not a racecar, it doesn't have an LSD or any 'drag' suspension. It is stock ride height with stock front/rear swaybars, etc. I drive this car in the rain, in the snow, and in the sun, in the same EXACT setup that it went 123mph. I didn't even change the boost levels from what I drive on everyday, it is also on 93 pump and conservative timing. haters... I'm the red car... http://videos.streetfire.net/video/12171-123mph_645468.htmhttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/Fierofiend/DSCF2103.jpgI was actually kinda trying to be helpful. He actually might have a boostleak or something, that is a rather low mph for DRs and a turbo V8 imo.

but do you see my point. you never stated you babied it out of the hole. i for one when i go to the track i dont hold back. if the car cant handel it i just dont go. so when i saw your ET and MPH it seemed funny and a flag goes up in my head. i asked for a vid and you came threw wich i commend you on as most wont do it. knowing about times and et's you should be going mid to low 11s if not faster. im not hateing on your car at all.seeing that i wish i had one. but you were a little short on detalis on your 1st post. and as far as the GT goes its on 8psi wich is maybe 100 more HP with a car thats not set up for the track and (no offence Chad) a shity driver. the time is dead on. given just a better driver alone nothing else im sure the car would break 11s if not close to it. but nice car anyway and fix the tranny/beef it up.

He's running 15psi in a 3800 v6 friken fiero. It doesn't take a shit-ton of power for the little bastards to perform. EDIT: Didn't notice it was a 2v. It still seems a bit low...but lord knows there are 101 reasons for it.

He actually might have a boostleak or something, that is a rather low mph for DRs and a turbo V8 imo. Everything you describe is the same as me, boost is the same that I drive daily if you read it up top. 8psi untouched same way I drive it daily as well besides for throwing on a wore out set of dr's. from my 60' (1.97) you can tell the tires are trash as I cut the same time on a nitto 555 (not r's) in my 4v car when it was supercharged. Im trapping 115-116, you are in the lower 123 range, anyone I know in that mph is mid 11's. I have a buddy with an 03 thats making 505 wheel and trapping that same mph and going right at 11.6. So its pretty evident that you are making more power than I am, my car on 8psi the way I drive it on the street daily is around 400 wheel from what I would calculate. Its on ly been on the dyno at 5 and 10psi so that is an estimate. Im not by no means launching hard and the 1.97 short time reflects that. I dont have a truck now for tonight so not going to get to make more passes to see if I could dip into the 11's.

Good lord, if your car was the grayish (?) sn car going 8.99@153, that was wicked. I was parked over closer to the circle track area and really didnt have the hood open and the car looks bone stock. So unless you walked by with the hood open it would be hard to tell. Wicked car though if that was you, VERY IMPRESSIVE, wanted to get back out tonight but all of the trucks are on the road and dont want to drive the 1 1/2hr and get there to have something happen to the car. I dont doubt the car, rather be safe than sorry. Maybe Ill catch you out there next time, I would like to check that car out

Chad what did the car dyno at the wheel?
I was running the car on 8psi that night, just as I drive it daily, didnt change anythign but the rear wheels. If I remember correctly, on 5 it was around 330/375 and 10psi was like 440/495. Once again I dont have the graph in front of me so dont hold me exactly to those but I think thats close. I have never had it on the dyno exactly at 8psi the way it was at at track but I would say somewhere around the 400 mark the way it sat when I was making the passes

You have a light v6 in an even lighter chassis, on top of that it's a mid engine platform! Not sure what you're trying to prove or as you say "help" with. That's like me sayin that my yugo with a 454 can go to the track and run 9's so there must be a problem with this mustang!? Totally retarded comparison makes me want to This is a totally stock mustang save for the kit and front suspension with the creature comforts of a/c, p/s, p/b, abs, etc.. That he daily drives everyday. Since i have something to "contribute" to this thread I can say that my bone stock 00' GT with a custom turbo kit and front suspension that dyno'd 410/480 at 8 psi also ran a 12.3 @ 117mph with a 2.2 60ft. Yes, i'm not a pro driver so thats where I think it could of pulled a high 11 if i could of pulled a decent 1.6-1.7 short time. I was on some worn out 18 inch street radials too. ***Found even more facts that make this comparison even more RETARDED*** -Full standalone electronics -3800 is boosted from the factory, so i'm assuming its a forged motor and it is NOT the motor that came in the car -he's trying to run 20psi through it

A nice hooking can break 10's at 123 mph depending on wieght. Hell my buddies civic hatch went 11.2@123mph with a 1.6 60'. A 2v is not going to go as fast as a fox 5.0 on the same boost...heavier car less effecient head.
