I do not think that there is any doubt that he super turbos are for mild applications.

The OP has already made 520rwhp and is now hoping to make more , so these mufflers shouldn't even be in the equation .

That is correct. I have made 520 with my procharger. Im lookin for a little bit more this time around. I saw the flow numbers on the super turbo mufflers and they dont flow much better than a 50 series flowmaster. I ended up going with magnaflow because I really like the way they sound. There were just a lot more clips available for magnaflows than for the dynomax ultraflows. We will see. I will put them on as soon as they get here and I will post up what I think.

Where are you coming up with this "acvice"?  Please don't chime in with "facts" when you really don't know.  Super Turbos are NOT chambered in any way shape or form.  NOT AT ALL!  Also, Ultra Flo's are NOT bullets.  NOT AT ALL.  They are a straight through design such as a Magnaflow or other but they have a substantial amount of packing around the perforated tube.  Definitely quieter than a bullet.

Please do not give bad/false information to people because if they don't know the correct answer, they are going to run with your incorrect info.

The only difference between a bullet and an ultra-flow is weight. You will not see much of a sound difference if any if you switch from a bullet to a center in/center out ultra-flow. I'm not calling the super turbo a flow-master knock off, but if you look at the picture in the link you provided you can CLEARLY see 2 bulk heads creating 3 "Sectioned Off Areas" aka chambers, that are connected by perforated tubes that have some half-assed "Flow directors" at each entrance and exit of said tubes. I would not piss on a super-turbo muffler to put out a fire.

In the original poster's application a super turbo will end with a substancial loss of power. I've held/fondled dynomax bullets/ultraflows/super turbos, flowmaster 40 and 30 series. and the super-turbo is definatley one of the worst options out of all of these mufflers. IMHO if you dont want loud exhaust, everyone is right on track about not using axle dumps. When you use an axle dump your aiming the exhaust towards the ground which gives you a deep/loud exhaust note which is extreemly audible in the car due to the fact that the sound waves bounce off of the bottom of the car and the ground before they escape from under the car.

I've used lots of Ultraflows (mainly 3" offset ovals) and then I tried similar Magnaflo and I was very impressed!
Quieter and the internals are actually formed bends. Plus they're some kind of SS.
Very worth the extra bucks.

I still love the UF bullets, they make good resonators.

If you have room , this is a good idea .   A bullet will quiet a straight through muffler considerably .   I've got enough room to run two mufflers .

The sound is one of a kind .   You dont know how many people ask me what muffler i'm running .  They sound great !

Just by looking at the pic in the above post .    I would not call that a straight through design at all .

LOL . according to the chart it only flows 50cfm more than Flowbastards .

To give you an idea how shitty they flow ............ the straight through design  Ultraflow Welded flows ALMOST 3 times as much .    410cfm vs 1133cfm .

Hahaha

I'm not saying that they are straight through.  I'm not saying that they flow well.  All I'm saying is that they are not considered a chambered mufflers because the exhaust gases don't go into any noise cancelling chambers.

A fllowmaster looks like this: http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/images/deltatech.jpg  They have built in chambers to cancel the exhaust harmonics.  The Super Turbos cancel exhaust sound by using a perforated tube with absorbent packing around it.  The two areas that you are calling chambers are just there to direct the flow.  They do not collect any exhaust and force it back against itself to eliminate sound.  If you want to call them chambers, that's fine.  However, when turbo guys are talking about chambered mufflers, they are talking about mufflers such as Flowmasters or Mac Flowpath that use these chambers to deaden sound by boucing the exhaust flow back into itself.  Turbos do not like this.  The Super Turbos will not do this.  I would not recommend them for a high powered application.  I would use the Ultra Flos for that if you want the sound to be a little lower than a bullet.

When I'm talking about Ultra Flos, I mean the oval muffler, not the round.  That's my fault, I should have clarified this.  The round is a bullet with minimal packing around the tube.  The oval muffler has much more sound deadening and is noticeably quieter than a bullet muffler.  The Dynomax Race Bullets are louder.

I put on my oval magnaflows today and the difference is amazing. The car isnt much louder than stock now and has a nice smooth tone to it with no popping at all. It was exactly what I was looking for. I think im going to put the tailpipes back on and weld everything back up tomorrow. The part number of the mufflers I used 11236. It is absolutely amazing how it sounds now. I'll post up some sound clips when im done.

I dont know why they woudnt. The mags are a straight thru design just like the ultraflows. I think they just have more figerglass packing material so they tend to run a little quieter than the ultraflows. They sound absolutely awesome. The other plus is that the magnaflows are stainless steel. Im glad I finally found something I can stand to cruise around in.
