Good exhaust
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:46:11 PM »

I have a 95 cobra with a pony down performance stage two kit on it at 10psi. Its stock shortblock out of a 91 5.0, w windsor junior aluminum heads, e cam, and trickflow trackheat intake. Im currently runnig the dynomax ultraflows 2.5"s and they dont seem bad for performance I just want something a bit throatier and louder.I dont want super loud, just want it to sound better because it almost quieter than stock. Thanks

if you are looking for NA mustang sound then forget about it. you wont get that throaty sound you are looking for with turbo especially if you are using stock style exhaust setup.

i just fixed it with electric cutout install. once open it gets fairly loud but still liveable.

you can try flowmaster single chambers but it wont be throaty...just louder.  my downpipe goes into dual super 40 flowies. at idle it seems like car has stock exhaust with cats still in it.

Don't most people generally steer away from chambered mufflers when running turbo setups?

Dynomax has a bullet muffler that muffles a little (but not much).

SLP LM1 Resonators 2 of em on my car.  They sound awesome, but my car is still quiet as hell compared to when it had a catted H pipe and longtubes.  Cops leave me alone.

I would try bigger pipes like 3in or a single 4in mine is 3.5 down pipe to a 4in pipe with a turn down its pretty loud I'm going to put a ultra flow rounf and then try a bullet.

I have heard good things about Dynomax mufflers.

Most any type of "bullet" muffler will give you what your looking for.  As said above, the turbo itself acts as a muffler and kills that awesome sound Mustang are so known for

I like the Bassani exhaust. It is pricey, but sounds great on a friends turbo car.

X2^^^I've had full bassani exhaust on my previous car and loved it!  I need to find a decent set of mufflers also.
