Looks good Quik!  The mighty 4.8 lives on! lol!  You should get a divided housing for that turbo and put a quick spool valve on it.  Would really give you a faster spool and wider power band.  Can't wait to see how it all comes out.
yea it lives and hopefully nets me the goals i want for the camaro.  I dont see myself tossing a quick spool valve on it since i have a 2step

Ya, the two-step is good for building boost on the line, but doesn't do anything when your driving around and just playing.  The QS valve is great for on the street.  On my truck when it's closed, the turbo is spooled up and whistling, ready to go into boost all the time when driving around, but when it's blocked open, I almost never hear the turbo until I really get into it.  Makes a BIG difference just in driving around.  WAY more fun! o i believe it does wonders but heres how i look at it. under 4500 its easy driving for me above that im in boost.  if im doing any kind of street action its usually from a roll and then i brake boost

well today i made some more progress. Todays progress consisted of working on the manifold.  As you can see the plugs are easily accessible and changable.

still leaves room to run stock heaterhoses

here you can see a mock up of the 4" dowpipe

in this pic youll see i have plenty of room on how the DP will route. ill be making a 90* turn and go between the engine mount and the block

also as you see the frotn view that is how the bay will look as for no wires or etc.  All wires will be underneath the car to give it that clean bay look

made little progress today.  I channel'd the frame using a piece of 4" pipe. This was done for the 3" outlet.

i still need to address the welds some but thats another day along with the other work done in other areas

here you can see how the nose is supported along with how the IC and its tubing looks

Here is todays progress.

I welded up the holes in the bay with 16guage. I had a 4.25" hole cut so my charge pipe could pass thru with the clean look

in these two pics you can see the 2 holes i cut into another piece of 16 gauge.  1 hole is for the 3" charge pipe and other hole is for the 4" air intake

in this pic you can see the 4" pipe sticking down. Ill be tossing on a filter to this. I chose this postion for the filter for a cleaner look, cooler air and the pressurized air from behind the foglight

been working on the wiring harness.  i took the two fuse boxes and comdensed them into 1. I removed all the wires i wasnt using. i hid the fuse box underneath. I didnt take any pics since im still in the process of this.  this week since its a long weekend cause of holiday im going to weld in my subframe supports then finished the frontend harness, after that im going to tear it all apart and off to paint

since the plan was to hide the wiring and make the bay look as clean as possible. with doing this i had to relocated the fuse boxes but instead of relocating two of them i comdensed the two fuse boxes into one and relabled the cover. Here you an see where the fuse box is now located and is accessible from under the car

got some more work done today. I went and welded in my subframe stiffener. I ended up using 2x2x1/4 angle and sectioned the rocker so these would be fully connected to the body. they are the lenght of the cage's mounting points. Just jacking the car up you can see how rigid the car is now. Sitting the car you can feel how stiffer the floor is.

got some work done on the manifold today. whats left with it  is, i need to add the 90* bend with vband for the crossover and then finish welding the 90* that holds the T4 flange then its finished.  specs on the manifold are....2.5" main tube with 2" primary's, 7/16 thick header flange {purchased from GM performance parts}

to some wondering why i used this style, it works well even tho it doesnt follow alot of ppl's beliefs on how a hot side should work. Similar manifold on this same combo in my silverado netted 702rwhp with a pig rich AFR and 16psi on a 4.8

Just curious if you think the 2.5" main tube will cause restriction compared to a 3".  I was thinking along the lines of a 1 3/4" primary 2.5" header on the driver side, 2.5" crossover, into the back of a 3" or 3.5" main tube log with 1 3/4" primaries.

it shouldnt be an issue since its now pressurized so velocity should stay high. with alot of other builds all using 2.5 for the feed into a single t4 they dont seem to have any issues. this style setup is mimic by many ppl and companys and all seem to produce numbers without any issues.

also the stock manifold only has opening of 2.25 thats why alot hog it out larger

well its been awhile since my last update.  I had to pick up a few critical parts before i can go any further. I had picked up a PAracing K member and a set of Spohn solid stands.  This allows me to run the down pipe how i had planned. I can easily fit 4" i probably could tuck 5" with how this setup is.  Once i pick up a few 4" 45* bends ill start working on the downpipe. once the downpipe is finished then i can make the crossover then plumb in the wastegate.  After that is the fun part and redoing the engine harness to hide the wires like i did on the silverado.

i think im going to look into getting my fuel rails color matched to the intake. I had teh  fast intake repainted months ago and didnt realize it was little darker then my orignal color of electron blue.  The intake is Arrival blue which im starting to like more. THis will probably end up being the base color for the car.

in these pics you can see how easily a 4" pipe routes with no interferences.  I had two pieces of pipe angle cut that i tacked just to see how a set of 45s would work. turns out theyll work perfect

2.5" crossover should support 1500hp.

Crossover is different then a log. A crossover should merge at the T4 flange. His log is trying to pass 2 banks work of exhaust thru a 2.5" tube. It will most certainly be a restriction. Will he make good power... yes. Will he make more power with a 3" log instead... hell yes.

dont be so sure of yourself on that note.  keeping it all 2.5 the velocity will stay high and not create as much turbulance as it would be if 3".   setups like this have made over 1k with no issues.  Most ppl cant even handle 1k hp safely so 2.5" is plenty
