Solid mounts that actually fit a SN95 5.0
« on: October 26, 2009, 08:50:07 AM »

The Holcomb units i bought i just found out from Blacksaleen95 that they DO NOT fit at all, and Holcomb told him that is true afterwards.

So what solids to fit my stock k member 5.0 in a 94 mustang?

I had no problem with my QA1 k-member and UPR Solid motor mounts in my 95.
I got the mounts brand new off ebay shipped for like $50.

I just ordered the maximum motorsports solid mounts.  I'll let you know how they work out.  Just from comparing the pictures of them to the holcomb ones (HPM copies from my understanding) the MM ones look much higher quality.  First they are powdercoated.  Second they are the same basic design but have the additional piece welded on to box them for strength.  And last they are cheaper than most others on the market.

Actually I was asking BlackMagic about the upr mounts, but please do post up and let us know what you think of them and how they work as I'm sure other people may be interested.

I have Maximum Motorsports solids on my 95' Cobra, if your using an aftermarket 7 quart dual sump oil pan you may have to do some minor trimming to the k-member like i had to because the motor is dropped around 1"

Overall they are very nice quality mounts and are dirt cheap

Im not sure if Maximum Motorsports makes different solid mounts? I bought mine from CJ Pony Parts and they def. did drop my motor around an inch.

From my understanding of it the convertable motor mounts drop the engine lower from the factory, I believe a lot of these aftermarket companys mounts are based off those. That would be the reason that the stock height mounts they sell to us do in fact drop the engine still. This is hear say to me as I've never compared the converts to non side by side but it makes sense.

Maximum Motorsports Solids in black and Holcomb SMS solids in rear, notice the half moon cuts on the MM that the others lack, same height overall, I can measure if someon knows the height difference vs vert mounts.

did you get your MM mounts installed?  My drivers side mount is not lining up with the hole in the k-memper.  I compared it to the factory mount and the bolt is clearly not in line with the factory one.  I tryed to call MM but they aren't going to be open until monday.  I'll try to get pictures up as soon as i get a chance.

Maybe they marked it backwards, try the other mount on that side.
