How much Hp/Boost will a stockish 350 hold?
« on: November 03, 2009, 03:35:56 PM »

Im building a SBC mustang with an 80mm Turbonetics turbo. I have a cupple 400s Im building one right now but parts are $$$$! I have a good older chevy 350 I can throw in there with a good intake and a set of heads/cam to kinda get the car going. My question is how much Hp/Boost will it hold. The car will pretty much just see the track for right now...  Thanks

Mine's doing just fine. S475 turbo running somewhere between 6-8psi (gauge flutters and I'm tryin to point it straight and shift). So far have ran 10.54 @ 131 with a 1.6 60 foot. Didn't even feel like it was leaving all that hard. ~3200 pound S10 is the truck it's in.

Stock 350 bored .060 2-bolt main with factory caps/arp main studs.

boost does not = power
airflow = power

4 bolt 350 will be stronger than 400 2 bolt

my 350 hated anything around 900+ hp
it is cheaper in the long run to get a good block
