Figured I would start a build thread for our "275" drag radial car:) Were building this thing as mainly for our local 1/8 street car classes but hope we can eventually get into bigger races and be competitive. The cars a 99 TA that started the build as a forged 346 with a 200 shot on it. We are reusing the short black and put a set of 6.0 heads with .660 lift patriots on it, head studs and new MLS gaskets. the trans is a built th400 with a hipster trans brake and a custom FTI converter. were using a 6.0 logs and 2.5" cross over to feed the S480, it has a race cover so it should help get us to our modest goal of 9.50 ET's with the 346. Parts list Engine: Stock crank knife edged Compstar rods Mahle Pistons ARP hardware/head studs Patriot vavle springs/retainers stock valves 6.0 heads w/MLS gaskets edelbrock single plane intake with cast elbow and fuel rails ls2 timing chain ls7 lifters custom cam Fuel: Nasty N8 2000HP setup Magna fuel pump aluminum tank in stock location 96 lb/hr -10 feed -8 return Trans/Rear TH400 trans brake 4000 rpm FTI converter 9" moser 31 splines Trans cooler Turbo: 6.0 manifolds 50mm WG JGS 56mm BOV JGS Airworks S480 with a Race cover 1.10A/R 2.5" cross overs 5" down pipe necked down to 4" PICS! First things first, cut the fire wall and smooth the engine bay and get rid of the damn cowl!! Cut out all the BS around the heater box and welded in new plate with bead rolls

Very nice, it looks funny with the cowl gone, never seen it that way. Should've been that way from the start. Nice work, is that a wrap?

Thanks man! we tried to clean up the engine bay as much as possible and the firewall with the cowl and AC delete came out really well. Yup its a wrap! we tossed around alot of paint ideas but the wrap made more sense for a race car. Big fan of the black engine bay, looks sinister!! What do you for rear suspension? -Eldon Rear suspesion is Qa1's BMR drag bar with Rod end links, adjustable control arms and panhard rod. We will be mini tubing it in a few months and shortening the axles and gettign a nice dish on the rears. Says your in Tn but I swear Ive seen that car before. We brought it to the gathering in ATL earlier this year? thats about the only place its been out to. (we were showing the motor plate and alt bracket off for the sponsors (AEI inc) Weve almost got it fired up yesterday but ran out of time before it needed to at a benifit car show. the guys at FAST have been AMAZING to work with, Robin spent damn near the whole day on the phone with Tim trouble shooting some hardware issues! Im hoping by new weekend we will ahve it up and fired. then its on to the brakes and cooling system!!

Nice work! Im anxious to see how the edelbrock Victor and their elbow work in a boosted application. I put that intake and elbow on a bone stock 2007 6 liter truck engine that got plopped into (of all things) a 50 merc lowrider. The damn thing runs low 13's in the 1/4 mile! Keep up the nice work guys!

Thanks man! Were running a no name A2W mounted up behind the dash. It came from another car making north of 1300hp with a 94mm and didnt have any trouble with IATs. We plan to run it as hard as possible, bassically whatever the motor can handle, Im figureing about 15lbs, probably start seeing water around 18lbs...We will have a couple different tunes locked down so we can run nice and conservative at our local track and crank it up for the bigger races.
