I am building a 406 TT with 72mm turbos. I was looking to get new heads. I liked the new AFR 220's SP since they seem to be the best bang for the buck but a few engine guys I have talked with say that the brodix 11X SP is a better more durable head. There is a good bit of price difference between the two, brodix being more expensive. Any input on these or any other heads would be great!! My current heads are an old set of Proaction 200cc standard port heads. Has anyone had any experience runnings these? Would they be worth porting?

how much power you trying to make, and how high you reving? How much do you currently make on the 200 proactions?
AFR's are great heads out the box. I got a twin turbo 401 using AFR 195 eliminators and have gone 9.73 at 142 on a crappy tune..had some problems on that run but still was my best. my street tune which has been 14psi has done 9.86 at 141 on a weak 60 foot.
I only run a 60 mm turbo so you are probly looking for lower 9's? I think AFR 210's would be more than enough head. 220s wouldnt be too bad either and for the price you cant beat them. I dont know who says brodix is more durable...on what basis? how does a head wear out? Just put in good springs on either of them to match your cam and they will last
And the AFR 220's dont requrie special offset rockers and feature standard valve spacing. I dont think the Brodix 11x heads have that, i think they use 60/40 valve spacing. The AFR's I do believe out flow the Brodix heads too

The durability is not necessarily about wearing out but the strength of the deck and the guide material. I want to make as much as possible yet streetable. The rpm will be determined by the engine builder. When is was a 372 I shifted at 7000. I plans on running 20-24 lbs of boost. I want to get is in the 8's solid. Yeah, the AFR's don't need special rockers, I can use my current shaft set. The 11x can use stud mount rockers but my shafts will not work with the 40/60 spacing.

Yeah i dont think you'll have a problem getting 8's with that rpm and either of those two heads. at 20-24 lbs i think i can touch 8's and my setup doesnt even go over 5700 rpm much...its suppose to but i really havent yet.
With 220's and that rpm range, i think it will work good.
