Mcloed has clutches that hold, dual disc never slips. Pricey though.

I don't have a DF but a cheapo RAM worked for a while, a Spec3+, and PP didn't hold.  Current deal was $360 and

I think Mcloed wants approx. 800-1000, I've had one since the mid 80's and never has slipped, feels like stock, and pushed it to more than 500hp, 439+rwhp. Love it! will buy again, unless I change up and convert to 5.0 chit.

I ran a 11.92@116 with a 1.62 60' on the first pass with about 30-31psi. Second pass, dialled in a little more timing retard on the launch controller and turned up the boost a little. Ran 11.73 @110 with 33psi boost lifting because she was rattling hard in 4th. I didn't add enough fuel in to compensate for the added boost. 60' was 1.55 on that pass. I added more fuel in and went for a third try. Snapped the driver side axle and fragged the carrier in the process. It's all fixed now with Moser 31 spline axles, new carrier, etc.
I have since added a second methanol nozzle to my setup. Man oh man does it like the methanol. I can now do 60mph burnouts at will. Bring it up to 60mph in 3rd and just mat it. As soon as the boost hits, it blows the tires away. Very fun stuff!
A buddy just bought an all stock 07 GT500 and challenged me. We went from 30-80mph and I put a car on him...needless to say he is none too pleased, lol.
The cam is an Esslinger 2277 (.498 lift I think) and the cars weighs about 3550 with me in it. Track opens back up in two weeks. Gonna try for some 11.50-11.60"s Oohyah!

hey man that sounds sick. i was about to leave to go look at a buddy of mine that wants to sell his 88TC 5speed. but i was a little hesitant cause i was sure if i could make it a fun DD (the 07 f150 blows on gas milage) but after reading this im deff picking one up. if you dont mind id like to hear more about you car. like what suspension do you have tune if tuned at all. fmic? ext... hell i might be half tempted to rip out the 5.0 out of my stang and drop in the 2.3! and put the 5.0 in the T-bird. stang weighs 2989 without me in it with a stock iron head 5.0 and aod trany with stock k member. im sure after the swap it would be down to 2800+ thanks for the info man i appriciate it.

Oops, forgot about this thread. Well the bird took a turn for the worse. I took it back to the track on Feb 27th to see if I could get into the mid 11's. I didn't do a very good burnout but the car still managed a 1.63 60'. Everything was going well until the shift to fourth when the car stumbled and nosed over. I coasted across the line with a 11.93 @ 110. Got it stopped on the return road and found a hole in the block above the starter. I exceeded the stock rod's limit one too many times I guess. Number four rod took out the piston and cylinder wall. Cry
The good news is I am not giving up. I have another block that just got out of the machine shop. I have diamond pistons for it and ordered some billet rods for it as well. I've decided to step up the program and also ordered a bigger turbo and stainless header for it. I am still gunning for the tens (hopefully without spray but I am not scared to use it if necessary).
Stangbanger, the car is using a megasquirt standalone for fuel control and a MSD6AL2 programmable for the ignition. Tuning is not bad once you get used to the MS system. As for the suspension, everything up front is stock except drilled/slotted rotors. In the back I have CHE lowers and CHE double adjustable uppers with sphericals in the rearend upper mounts. I also run an airbag in the right rear so the car won't twist. I also have 2x3 heavy wall tubing homebuilt SFCs on the car. I launch with the stock PRC struts/shocks set on firm.
On the weight issue, I think you only save about 75lbs or so going from 5.0 to 2.3T because of the turbo stuff.
And now some pics for your viewing pleasure:
Here is the car after I got it off the trailer just before we pushed it into the garage:

Motor coming out for the first time in 244,000 miles:

On to the fun stuff.......carnage!

If all goes according to plan, I should have her back on the road by mid to late April.

Took a little longer than I anticipated but the bird lives again! Got the new motor started Sunday. No leaks, no smoke, no funny noises Two Thumbs Up! I gotta retorque the head and get it out and start tuning it. It now has an aluminum head, bigger cam, bigger turbo, header, yada yada. Can you say tens perhaps? Cheers!

The head is a Essy aluminum dport with a Boport stage three port job with his stage 3 hydraulic roller cam. .020 over Diamond pistons, Boport billet rods, Total Seal rings. On the Holset I ran 32-34psi boost. According to the map, this 6262 doesn't start losing efficiency until the 45psi range Shocked. The aluminum head will allow more boost than the iron head with the same octane fuel.
The rearend is built with good stuff. The only thing still stock is the T5. It has performed flawlessly but I will be pushing at least 100hp more now so I don't know how long it will last.
