Does anyone think I can make 1200hp with a long runner intake like the Saleen/Vortech intake? My other option is a Edelbrock Performer RPM II. I have one of those already also.
I was originally intending to go blow-thru on my X275 car but I ended up buying a BS3 and some 160lb injectors. I prefer a low hood for somewhat of a sleeper effect. I was going to run a Super Victor based on the 1200whp goal. I had already bought a carb Super Victor but like I mentioned I want to go EFI now. What about a tunnel ram lower and a box upper like the Cartech intake?
The motor is 349" R block with a Jay Allen .700+ lift solid roller, 10.5:1 compression and worked TFS/KPI Street Heat highports. Max RPM will be 7800-8000. I need to run 5.20-5.30's in the 1/8th on 275 DR's. TH400 and 3.55 gears.

Search for Bellman Jeff. He had a 383SBF with a trick flow intake and I think he was running a fairly big solid roller. He shifted it around 7k. He said it had very good low end torque. Enough he could foot brakes it off the line (no need for a trans brake).
1200rwhp can be done with a long runner intake but I think you will be shifting closer to 7k than 8k and it will take more boost than with a single plane like the super vic. It all depends on what you want.

My wife would love it if i could do this without spending anymore money, LOL. So, which one would be better, the Vortech or the Edelbrock?

There are some "intake shootout" articles google would get you to pretty quickly. I think I remember the performer RPM favoring the upper end a little better than the vortech (which is really a systemax). It would match your cam a little better. What turbo are you using? A long runner intake is going to push you to the left on the compressor map some.

GT5518, it's a new unit, big frame, 111mm turbine wheel with an 88mm compressor. Compressor is basically a GT4718 with a BIG turbine to reduce back pressure for larger motors and high rpm. The turbo is the biggest "True" 88mm I could get per class regulations.
Also, I have looked at some of the intake "Shootouts" and they are directed more to street oriented cars. I'm not sure if the information can be applied to big cammed turbo race applications. I am going to look into what is popular with the NMRA Renegade class guys. They're required to run long runner cast intakes and they run LOW 8's so I think they have it figured out.

Looking at the T88 map I think a long runner intake setup with a little more boost will extract a little more out of the turbo. You don't want to make much more than 500Hp with the engine N/A or it will not be ideal for the turbo.

That's what I would do... Unless you still have the Super Victor you mentioned. Convert that to EFI and don't look back IMO.

Super vic for the win, that would be the most cost effective way if you have it. Should support the power your looking to make without having to lean so much on your other engine parts...

Another vote for the super vic if you still got it. Just sell the eddy and convert your SV. Sounds like you are putting together a sweet combo, you should start a build thread.
