I am in the process of running a turbo. It is on a 390 inch stroker SB Mopar and will have a 76 mm turbo but with an Aeromotive 1000 fuel pump and regulator (was FI application at one time). This is not a max effort application and am only seeking around 600-650 hp (block limited). Currently it is a carb application. What FI system would you suggest for my application. If I stay carb, I will have to buy a turbo carb, MSD Digital 6, AF guage, carb hat. With FI, will I have to buy an ignition system to back down timing? Will I have to get an AF guage or will the FI system monitor that? Thanks!

Bs3 or xfi ftw. Either system will do whatever you want them to and more. Both are pretty user friendly with good tech support. I have xfi, and have seen bs3 in action, and are similar in the way they work. Purchase from a vendor here who is familiar with the particular system, and they can install a base startup tune for your needs. Also, if there is a shop you are going to be taking the car to, see which system they prefer u less you are going to be doing the tuning.

Just about any EFI system out there is going to support timing control, but you'll often need something like an MSD box to get the spark hot enough. Unless you were planning to go to a distributorless ignition. Were you planning on just fuel and ignition control, or did you need anything more advanced? Some examples of features you might want include built in boost or fan control, a built in two step rev limiter, or more advanced features like storing data logs in the ECU, reading eight EGT probes to examine your fuel distribution.

There's alot more in today's EFI systems than fuel and timing management. The most popular in no particular order are the Accel Gen7, FAST XFI, BS3, Holley amd MS. They all offer features and benefits vs. cost. There are plently of questions to ask before spending your cash on something your not fully aware can or cannot do.
Do you want need internal datalogging? Do you want intgrated boost control? Do you wish to run DIS? Do you want need to monitor or run auxillery channels? What saftey does it have built in? etc......

Thanks for the input guys.
Yes, I would want internal datalogging. I would need some sort of boost control. What is DIS? Aux channels...? Off the top of my head, not sure if I need this... Safety as far as oil, fuel monitor, cutoffs, etc. Yes.
I will probably start calling some companies to get these answers.

Although not available until March, the new Holley HP EFI system may be an excellent option. http://www.holley.com/550-604.asp is the PN for the ECU & Harness kit designed for any multiport EFI intake manifold. If you provide cam and crank signals, this ECU offers 8 coil drivers to retrofit GM coils (DIS = Distributorless Ignition System) or you can run a traditional dual sync distributor w/ coil and traditional MSD 6A type ignition. The ECU & Harness systems are expected to retail ~ $1500. This ECU offers the benefit of Self-Learning Fuel Map tuning. 2 gig of internal datalogging memory Boost can be managed via time, gear, mph or stage based control (gear and stage based also have time ramps for addtional control) 4 Input / 4 Outputs can be config'd to monitor fuel/oil pressure or internal sensors for saftey or warning/caution activation Fully potted ECU and sealed connectors mean this ECU can be mounted anywhere
