so i have a little "86 couple that im throwing together, its got a very basic mild 408 that will see no more than 6-6200 for peak rpm, it is a 5 speed and i want to throw a 76mm on it and everyone says not to, i know a few guys that have made 600whp with this setup on this site, or i would like to do a set of super small twins, wanting instant boost and done at 6000rpm, what do you guys think???

A well built 408 should make those numbers or close to with no boost. You should only need a few lbs of boost to reach your goals. That being said, seems like a lot of work for that amount of power.

At 6200 RPM the T-4 flange won't let it breath enough. Your power will peak at 5k probably.
I'm going twins, something in the 67mm range. I only plan to make 650 RWHP, I suspect 5 PSI will get me there no problem.

We can build you a pair of Garretts that will fit the bill, make dang near instant boost and easily throw down the #'s your talking. Also won't break the bank doing it.

go single. I have a S475 that in a 3500lb car with a 418W went 139mph in the 1/4. It spools almost instantly.
for $650 its the way to go. Plus you only need one wastegate.

lol, thats why i said a mild 408, not race heads, solid roller, blah blah blah, most of the mild 408's make 450 rwhp on my mustang dyno, and i was thinking another 7-10 psi would make 650-725 rwhp, i want something that stays in boost pretty instantly, i had a little 306 h/c/i holset hx35 car that was perfect before, it ran 9lb's and and 120mph and boost was almost instant (full boost by 1800 rpm) and done by 5800, this is one of the torqueist cars ive had, i want to build something a liittle bigger but kinda the same platform, i know i could build an n/a 400+ cube sbf and make 600whp but i dont want a drag car.

The sponsors on here can take care of you. Check the sponsors classifieds or post in there that you wtb and to pm you pricing. I've seen S400-75's t6 advertised as low as $599 as I recall on a sponsors website.

The only thing about the twin setup I can think of is the t4 exhaust housings add $200 to the price for each turbo. But if twin t6's is what you want then it stays real cheap.

Oof, no that'd be a bit too much.
I'm just looking for a cheaper decent turbo. I was looking at the MP T70's with the .68 A/R
Anything BW makes that would be comparable?

I think you will find a single to be cheaper to build. One wastegate, ability to run cheap shorty headers, one turbo to buy, one downpipe, etc. Even a S480 is only $899, compared to at least $600/ea for any MP turbos for twins. A MP T-76 is ~$825, and I wouldn't run one of those on a 408ci engine because the hot side is too small. I think an S475 with a 1.10 T6 hotside would come on like you want and make the power you want. The 1.32 hotside might be better for a 408ci, but I doubt it would be "instant" boost like you want.

1.1 isn't a cheap option now http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=120101.0Twin GT61's with a T4 is around $1300 from JZ plus the hot side cost. W/.69's it will be instant smoke.... Otherwise an S480 or a GT80. The 76 will run pretty far to the right on the map.

The 1.10 on an 83mm wheel is still $599. The 1.10 87mm is much more expensive. The thread you linked to was specifically talking about the 87mm wheel. http://www.forcedinductions.com/productsborgwarner.htmIf that isn't the case then Jose needs to update his site because it's been wrong for a long time.

I went 10.88@123 in my 95 Lightning! Stock 184,000 shortblock, little AFR185 heads and a hyd roller cam. Thats with a T4 flange Precision 76GTSH w/ .96 turbine housing and 3" downpipe. Thats with the stock trans and rear end and track wieght of 4500#. truck made 634rwhp and 706 trq on 14psi! I personally think the 76 worked great for the 351w.
I am going twin MP T70s on my 392w build.

Did you ever check the back pressure in the crossover on that setup?
