I also have been screwed by Brad.
purchased a dart shortblock from him. Decided to sell and sold it to T76 on the forums. Money was sent to brad, and he was supposed to send me a check minus $1k that I owed him. He told me that the money went through bankruptcy. Failed to tell me this till it was done with. Lied to me and told me the money is on the way. He then promised to pay me when he gets the money.
This is after I got scammed out of my Brand new turbo kit.
I tried to call Brad today, but his phone is shut off.
What can be done:pist:

He tells me the reason he intentionaly shut the phone off is because he is trying to get caught up on his 2 last kits mine and some one elses and because he is moving into a new building all he's gotta do is make a few phone calls get me my turbo, injectors, turbo blanket, and chip that he says he already has, exhaust bolts and whatever else he hasn't sent me so far i have spent over 13 hours fixing his work
ALSO SINCE I KNOW BRAD PASSING THRU HERE HERES A MESSAGE FOR YA ALL I WANT IS THE REST OF MY PARTS SO I CAN BE ON MY WAY AND YOU CAN GO BACK TO WHATEVER IT IS YOU DO

And didn't T76 find some problems with how that motor was assembled?

I know jack about the legal system and more so up in that state but for some reason I have a feeling there is not much you can accomplish going that avenue.

I know if i had to do it all over again I would only buy a used kit where I could hand the guy a check and he hands over the kit on the spot...too many people getting screwed out there....also I would make sure you only go thru a reputable established company...alot of us learning that the hard way...fly by night operations suck...

With the internet it makes it kind of hard to tell who is running a reputable company vs some "business" operated out of their bathroom. Things can be talked about as great when in reality it is nothing but smoke and mirrors or whatever that damn expression is.

a couple of me and brads emails brad still cant tell me where the hell my turbo is or anything else for that matter he has been nothing but a pain in my ass and he has been jerking me around even more since i started posting on here I sent you a response a couple days ago also asking about the exhaust bolts. It would have been at the same time I resent the instructions. whats the status still havent heard back from you?? I would like to be kept informed. also still havent heard anything about the exhaust bolts
From: "Gretchen Edington" To: "jon w" Subject: Re: Re: Date: Thu, 12 Aug 2004 13:04:07 -0500
Actually Jon, the phone was intentionally shut off till I get caught up and get done with the move we are getting ready for, since the office and such is packed up to be moved, doesn't make much since to keep a phone number that is not useable in the new location active since it will be with a different phone company because our current one does not cover the area were we are moving too. Turbo is replacement, waiting on injectors. WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT TURBO? INJECTORS? BTW THE IF YOU DON'T PAY THE PHONE BILL CUSTOMERS CAN'T CALL YOU. WILL THERE BE EXHAUST BOLTS ON THE WAY? ALSO LAST CHANCE FOR ME TO GET ANY TRACK TIME IN UP HERE IS EXACTLY ONE MONTH AWAY SEPT 10 IT WOULD BE NICE IF MY CAR WAS TUNED AND READY BY THAT DATE. ALSO IT WOULD BE NICE IF I COULD GET SOME ACTUAL SOLID CONFIRMATION ON THAT From: "Gretchen Edington" To: "Jon we" Subject: Re:: Date: Tue, 10 Aug 2004 20:51:25 -0500 Jon, I am working on getting a suitable replacement but now they tell me I will have the one I ordered by the end of the week. I will let you know as soon as it arrives. The crossover is on it's way with the IC and the oil feed line you have to make from fittings and line included in the kit. I emailed you an instruction book last week, it was in a reply to one of your emails. Brad & Gretchen Edington Total Performance http://www.nothingbutperformance.com ----- Original Message -----From: "jon w" To: Sent: Thursday, August 05, 2004 6:34 PM Subject: Re: Re: Also i guy off of TM mailed me the instructions and it looks like im missing the exhaust crossover pipe, core support bracket, oil feed line From: "Gretchen Edington" To: "jon w" Subject: Re: Re: Date: Thu, 5 Aug 2004 17:31:16 -0500
I have a source for Lucas 42lb injectors which I am trying to get, 50's will starve your rails and are almost twice the price of 42s. The kit recalibrates the MAF through the factory computer or you can buy aPro-M. I will track everything else to see when you will get it. The phone works fine, I am just very seldom at my desk to answer it at this time. The phone cannot be heard in the shop which is where I usually am when home. Brad & Gretchen Edington Total Performance http://www.nothingbutperformance.com Just want to know the status and time frame on parts that I'm still waiting on what's the status on injectors? if they are no longer in production and im assuming their 42lb what about using 50lb injectors? I don't see how something like injectors could be hard to find what's the status on the turbo? also if you can't find a adequate replacement by the end of the week go ahead and credit me back money on the turbo and also the shipping charges that were never credited back to me also I don't recall if this kit came with a new maf fill me in on that still have not seen the intercooler has that been shipped yet? also wondering if there is anymore hardware i need as far as nuts and bolts etc also is there going to be instructions coming my way? also what's the status on the chip? by the way i already had the exhaust piece with the hole in it fixed i figured if i wanted it back by February i better have it taken care of locally p.s. just wondering if your phone is broken

Man is there still shit going on about Brad and his awesome products? I helped install one of his first kits here in Alabama on a brand new Roush. When he was still using Newton turbos. What a disaster that turned out to be.The guy that owns the Roush is trying to sue my friends that did most of the work on the car, just because Brad or Keith Newton can't be found. They went through 3 Newton turbos and none of them worked. and the fitment of the kit was absolutely awful. Crossover pipe didnt fit, wastgate wouldn't fit because it hit the valvecover, Y pipe didn't fit at all. I can't remember what else. I think something else was messed up and ended up porting the side of the block so the whole kit was removed and sold. The owner of the car was/is pissed about all that happened and can't find anyone else to blame it on so he is trying to file a lawsuit against us who only TRIED to install the kit. By the way the Roush only had like 600 miles on it when we did it and was over a year I think before the owner was able to even drive it. So good luck if and when you get your stuff from them. Hopefully you don't have the problems we did. Damn, I haven't thought about that crap in a long time. Probably goin to have a nightmare about it all.

I am wondering if anybody has Brad's Phone number anymore. I wanted to find out which turbo I got with my kit for the tuner so he knows. I know it was a T64E but I do not know which trim or A/R
Tried to call number and is disconnected and the website doesn't work either.

I had his cell and home phone number but cannot seem to find it. I can probably just go back on my cell phone bill to get the number. Maybe that will help. I just tried to call today and never knew about all of this.

Here is a cell phone number I used over a year ago.
217-260-3741
Not sure if it is still working but it might be worth a shot. Knowing Brad he probably did not pay his phone bill and it was turned off.
Let us know how you make out.

The website still works for me: http://www.nothingbutperformance.com/contact.aspSeeming like a nice guy does not mean one is fit to be running a business. You know that guy down at the used car lot seems like a nice guy to me, too bad he is a freakin crook who lies through his teeth.

we need a big time name like summit racing to start stocking kits or even making them. somone thats has the funds & in stock parts so we dont have to wait.. imagine just going out one day & taking home a turbo kit!! this business would skyrocket if it werent for all the b/s
just my 2 cents
