THANKS WALT !!

If you or anyone else ever need anything like this whipped up and your in a jam let me know.

I worked at a machine and repair shop for about 5yrs at my last job. So I'm pretty handy with the steel if ya know what I mean.

Ive been running a K&N I bought, how much of a gain are you all seeing at the track with these things?  Hell if they help at all it will be worth the $5-10 to make one.  Let me know, thanks.

Depending on where you live and how often you drive the car some people have been using these filters without any issues, but for regular everday driving most people go with a K&N style filter from what I have seen.

has anyone put a layer or 2 of pantyhose over the mesh to filter out the dust particles?  I dont have much room to run a K&N (even a small one) and was looking at this and thinking of doing..

1. wire mesh layer
2. panty hose layer
3. panyt hose layter
4. wire mesh layer

Think this will work for a daily driver?  the filter will be inside the fenderwell (a high pressure area) so there shouldn't be much dirt/dust blowing around in there

Blownshovel,  Clean looking setup. Shocked Two Thumbs Up!

I'm glad this was bumped back up, I need to go to Lowes and get the stuff to make me one.  K&N makes filters for about any application, go to your local advance/autozone and ask to look at the K&N book they have..thats what I done and I found one to fit my application.  You can go to their website and find one that fits as well.

Saw some in the ricer section at Advance Auto the other day....VERY short.

I wouldn't oil it, or it would reduce flow.

I went to Lowe's and Home Depot and asked for a plumber's boot and they had no clue what I was talking about. I ended up using a vacuum cleaner belt and clamp to hold the screen . It came out very nice. I was thinking of making a few if anybody is interested. Pm me
