Here is the blowoff valve and a better pic of how tight the outlet piping is out of the intercooler.

Here is what i did with the powersteering fluid return. I drilled and tapped the back side and used a jb weld epoxy to seal it up. There is no pressure on this line so I hope it works ok because the stock return butted right up against the collector and I had no chance of re-clocking it. I also have yet to heat wrap up the collectors.

you can get pipe thread to AN adapters and run braided line thats what most people do you have to remove those brass fittings I think on the AOD theyre 1/8 NPT fitting and you should use -6 line

I tried 1/8 pipe but it's way to small. My tap set shows its about a 1/2-20 but it should be a npt thread right?

That was a fairly quick build, compared to some. Looks nice!

Where did you get the turbine housing blanket?

I'm thinking I might remove the 5mph bumper off the car as the intercooler sits right up against it. I'm worried I might not have enough airflow across it  Angry! I hope to hit up the dyno in the next couple of weeks. The car right now really runs fat but i haven't had a chance to tune the car yet. The boost is almost instant though! I was worried because i have a .96 EH but I also have a 2800rpm stall convertor so I think that's why I'm boosting so quick. It hits about 9psi and stays pretty flat. I have about 10 degrees in it around 10psi just to play it safe on pump gas. But as soon as i fire up the water/meth I'll feel more comfortable upping the timing.

I got one of those coolers after seeing this thread.  I Can't wait to get all my stuff in.  Good to see you have it running.  Plan on dynoing?  I'd like to see the results if you do.

the intercooler..... I'm worried I might not have enough airflow across it

It's too hard to say unless you have a way of measuring intake temps. "Intercooler Theory" says they are just a heat sink (or "cooling" sink) and that airflow isn't needed so much until after it heats up a bit (farther down the track).

That's great to hear!!! At what RPM do you actually begin to see boost at?

Footbrake to launch, or just flash the converter to launch?

If I'm driving around 20mph in 1st gear and mash the throttle I'll see boost by 2600-2800rpm. I'm still using the factory tach so who really knows what it is Grin I can't hold my tires on the footbrake because there some 225 radials but on the transbrake it's almost instant boost. I keep reminding myself I have to told back because I don't have any subframe connectors yet and those go in hopefully next week!

Even more important - - - - WELD YOUR TORQUE BOXES FIRST! You can build a 10 second car without subframe connectors, but the torque boxes will have given up the ghost long before then. Subframe connectors are worthless without the torque boxes welded up anyways.

Good idea. Would you recommend a battle boxes type setup or just weld up the factory torque boxes. My torque boxes appear to be in good shape.

Mine were in great shape also. I just removed the back seat and rear carpet, then got underneath and wire brushed all the seams, then went to town with my MIG welder with .023 wire. I think it took most all day but I welded EVERYTHING!

I never bothered to change the upper and lower control arms (still 100% stock) because after welding the torque boxes the car launches straight and clean. I may have to later, though,  if I turn up the wick.

I was messing with the car today and after driving around for awhile I stopped and the car grabbed the inlet and outlet pipes on the intercooler and there was at least a 30* difference in temperature. I would say 95 in and 65 out. It was about 63* outside. I'm pretty good at judging temperature as I do hvac for a living. I'm not sure if that is good or not but I look forward to getting wot temp readings on my fluke when i dyno the car.

I also forgot to say that everytime I got into boost on the car I'm blowing the black coupling right on the throttle body off. I'm only using a hose clamp right now but i have a t-bolt clamp I'm going to use tomorrow. This one time it blew off I was in first gear rolling around 15mph and I stabbed the throttle, the tires went up and car pitched sideways. As soon as it pitched sideways boof! my blow-off vlave opened up and the coupling blew off again, damn Pissed!

Been there, done that. I had to build a brace between two items to take the force and problem solved. A buddy of mine fixd his problem (same) with some coat hanger wire and hose clamps!! Even though it worked, I made him fix it right.

Well the t-bolt clamp fixed that problem! No traction at all in first gear  Grin I made some blasts on the freeway today and the car pulls like a freight train!@! I know that it's an 11sec car for sure. The a/f ratio is still below 11:1 because that's the lowest my gauge will read but on the dyno I'll get it closer to 11.5:1 Turbo cars Rock on!
