Here is what i did with the powersteering fluid return. I drilled and tapped the back side and used a jb weld epoxy to seal it up. There is no pressure on this line so I hope it works ok because the stock return butted right up against the collector and I had no chance of re-clocking it. I also have yet to heat wrap up the collectors.

In an earlier post I wrote how i modified my return power steering line. When I first fire the car up in the morning the power steering works perfect. But as the motor warms up and after about 15min of driving I loose the power steering??? I'm not sure what's wrong because when everything is cold the PS is fine but after the car warms up i lose it?? Makes no sense to me. I have checked the fluid for the right level and I know the return is working properly because I can see the fluid splashing back as the PS pump is running. I posted a question awhile back about guys running there PS coolers and a couple of guys said that they didn't have one anymore and there PS works fine. So I thought I would try without a cooler. Maybe I do need a cooler as my fluid is getting too hot and the PS doesn't work anymore. Any ideas??

Do you still have the cooler?  You could try putting it back to eliminate that as a potential cause.  Did you see how I just pushed mine to the center for my build?  You could throw it back in there like that.

nice setup man....did the intercooler fit without having to cut much of the bumper? Any pics with the bumper cover on?  Also, how low does it hang?

Thanks for the compliments Oohyah! The front bumper has alot trimmed out. How much?... Well I should have taken some pictures but
the rear of the inner bumper has at least 2 1/2" trimmed all the way around because the IC is so thick. I can get pics of the bumper cover on it will be a little while though. I positioned the IC so it would be right on top of the grill opening on the bottom of the bumper. Once the 5mph bumper goes back on there isn't that much airlflow around the IC so I wanted as much as possible so i hung it as low as i could. I also have the pipe from the turbo going to the bottom of the IC where there is the most airflow to get the heat out the best.

Here is the pic of the front end with the intercooler. I ditched the foglights for weight and also to make room for intercooler. You can see the pipe coming from the turbo in the passenger side foglight hole.

quick update i went to the dyno and made 321rwhp / 320tq

I wanted 400 flywheel hp and I think if i add 1 or 2 more pounds of boost I'll be right there. Neat to think that these motors were rated at 225hp from the factory and you can add over 165hp from some boost! Oohyah! went into more detail in the dyno forum section

AOD?  Would that give you lower TQ #s because of converter slippage in the lower RPMs?

this months 5.0 mustang mag has a bone stock automatic 93 convert and it put down 138 rwhp at 3,987rpm and 185 rwtq
at 3,306 rpm.

zach

That was taken today from a post made a couple of days ago in the dyno forum. I have a 2800 stall in my 93 gt and with my stock longblock that means i gained 183rwhp and 125rwtq. I think your right about the converter stealing away the torque from pull. I've also come to the conclusion that I'm injecting too much alcohol. I'm using a 625 jet and my mix is 80/20 and with my 42lb injectors that means i'm injecting over 30% alky. I just found out from a reputable tuner that that is too much alky and i need to downjet. I'm going to go back to my 325 and retune the car. But I drove it again today and it's nice too see everything still holding together. Except for a POS rear main seal that likes to blow out alot of oil. I'm going to add a crankcase evac pump as soon as it comes in and hopefully that will help out my situation. I'll take some pics when i do and post them up

ok some quick updates:

1. The car has been running like a top lately Smiley

2. The water/meth jet was too big for my combo so i stepped it down and the car picked up alot of power. I haven't dyno'd it yet
but the seat of the pants feel is definetely there!

3. 20psi will make a ford v8 ping very badly!! My line formed a crack in the rubber hose I'm guessing due to heat and the wastegate
lost it's signal. I thought the car was running lean because I threw the smaller jet in. I kept adding fuel to the car and I still was
running way lean, so much so that it went past 17:1 on my AEM wideband. I finally saw the boost in my dfi when i was making a run and was able to see the boost number. So i repaired the line this time with some high temp hose and retuned the car and everything seems fine  Oohyah!

4. I did a 1/4 mile run on the street and my converter is way to loose. When I floor the car in first gear the rpm will go to 5800rpm
very quick. I'll then shift 2nd and the rpm drops down to 5600rpm back up to 5900rpm, shift third back down to 5700rpm and hold there the rest of the run. So I have to pull it out and get it tightened up Pissed! I'm still having fun though Two Thumbs Up!

It's been awhile but I thought I would post up the latest with my car. Finally have a working torque converter in my car and about 3 weeks ago I went to the track and ran a 13.2 at 111 with a competely stock 164k suspension setup. The rear end was blown and I only had 245/60/15 radials on some ponys. Car weighs 3600# I found out also!

I installed a bunch of new parts to the car(see list below) and tried my transbrake this time at the track and I ran a 12.7 at 108 with a 2.0 60' time. That's at about 8psi with I think a one legger rear end  Cry

New Parts:

Bear brakes all around 13" rotors up front with 4 piston calipers, 12" rear
Maximum Motorsports torque arm and panhard bar
Maximum Motorsports coil overs on bilstein shocks
5-Lug conversion
Auburn Posi(which I don't think is working)

Finally have the car running around 11:5-12:0afr and hopefully I can go to the dyno and start adding some timing to see what she likes. I think that with some more work at the line I can get it down to a 12.5 in the 1/4 mile. Then I'm going to up the boost and shoot for the 11's! Also have some random pics from last night down below.

My last run was a 12.7 at 109. My car weighs over 3700# right now with all the new suspension and rims/tires
that I just put on. So next time at the track I'll have a fiberglass hood and some front skinnies and draglites
for the rear.

wow it's been almost 3 months since i drove the car because I've been so busy but i did have time to take off the a/c pump and
and relocate the power steering. The air is much cooler now rather than in august and the car feels alot stronger. I added a couple of new pics, what the hell Smiley
