Hello, i have a stock EFI 302 and i want to run 6-8psi.
Don't worry about PSI until the kit is done
i was wondering if i could just run 1 small TBO344 turbo from the 80's t-bird turbo coupes, or is it just to small to run 1?
Way to small, unless you split your block in half, then it would run fine
Also what diameter piping would u recomend?
2.5 exhaust, 3 inch cold side
Last do i have to use a cross-over pipe or can i get away with running the turbo off 1 side of the motor?
No

Te04h do spool quick, but it's very small. Works great for a twin 4 cyl. May be a bit restrictive on the exhaust for an 8 cyl.

IE, the Powerstroke turbos and the oil hook-up "issue". Although not DIY/JY- Single Garrett GT42's are a good choice. They are cheap (under a grand), have modern wheels and aerodynamics, and are of a larger frame size (HD bearings). 2 sizes of off the shelf units, 85 and 96 LB/HR. A local 3300 lb mod motor car has trapped 155+ at low boost on a 96 lb/hr single.

Not sure myself for an answer, just start another thread. As you see, this one has become a deserted place

Im pretty new to this turbo idea, but i was wondering, what are the benefits of a Junkyard setup vs. buying on? IE. costs. ALso after reading the list of tubos availible to use for a twin setup say on a 5.0, would 2 turbos from a 2.5 engine spool up faster then a single made for a 5.0? I i were to goto a junkyard and pick up 2 identical turbos, would they needed to be rebuilt? Great site here with alot of info. Thanks

I probably missed it but:
Volvo:
94-97 850T5: td04-15g 94-97 850LPT: td04-13c (I believe if memory serves) 98-2000 s70T5: td04-16t 2000 V70R: td04-19T 2001+ S60T5: I believe is either a 16T or 19T 2004+ S60/V70R: KKK24 99+ S80T6: Twin td04-12b's (absolutely useless)
There are SOME .62 exhaust sided Garrett T3's found on older RWD volvos. ALL volvo turbos use a T3 flange regardless of make/model/year.

Hey guys I have been reading this forum for the past few weeks and I have to say it kicks ars!! Myself and a buddy at work are lookin into the junkyard route as we both have 5.0L kickin around not doing much. The list of turbos that would work is huge. Most of the cars would be very easy to come by and to get parts off them would be cheap to say the least. Now for my question, If you could choose the top 5-10 turbos from that list what would they be? I would hate to think I could have got turbo A for 75 bux when I could have paid 80 and got turbos that were way better. What I am looking for is minimal lag, 11-12 second car in the 1/4mile. This would be a street car too. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for your time.

t4 from the big f-800's and the likes You can find the T04's on some heavy duty fords (F700's and bigger), some farm tractors, International's ( DT466, DT444, these are like the ice trucks, budweiser trucks, Pepsi trucks, and some U-hauls). The different years had different sizes of T04's. Seems that the newer models have the larger turbos. I've gotten two from the Transfer Truck repair shops, they both were off international trucks, one was a T04B 54 trim and the other was a T04E 57 trim
Tell me about this oil hook up issue. I have my old holset from my 1990 dodge cummins, New cartridge is cheap. I have been reading, ALOT on this site. Should this make good horsepower and at wht boost levels?? Do I need an external wastegate and where to buy it from? Sorry if this is an annoying question, I will keep reading.

ok..lets do a few scenarios'. 1.twin t3 60 trims with .48 a/r's from some turbo ford 2. twin t3/to4e 50 trims with .48 or .63 a/r. 3. t04r(66.5mm) or precision pt-67. w/ comparable exhs sides..something like a .81 a/r.
