Whats news Anthony, it's been a while since I've checked this site (life has kinda sucked for a while).
What's the latest on the car? that thing is just sick!
ARGGGG, why did you drag this back up?!!? I thought we would all forget about it, hahaha. 1. I never thought I'd say this, but I don't give a shit about cars anymore. I mean of course, I'll see a bad Chevelle or something thumping in traffic and give a thumbs up, but beyond that I just do not care. 2. I don't really have a place to work on it, or store it, or the money for either of those things. Also, I can think of 19 other things I'd rather do with my free time than laying under a rusty car or rotting in a machine shop making parts for that rusty car. Having said that......I started it 3 months ago. As soon as fuel hit the rails, it fired right up and idled perfectly. I let it come up to temp and gave it a few blips. Everything is still working great. If it didn't need brakes, I might have cruised it a little this summer, but....eh.

I'm glad it wasn't me who dragged this thread up, cause I thought about doing it several times. I was at that same place for a long time where I just didn't feel like even looking at my pile of crap. It took a while, but I came around. Whatever you do, don't sell it, you'll regret it later! [unless you want to sell it to me that is]

Actually, it is just a plain junkyard Ford 5.0 distributor with a top-hat I made for myself. Not pictured are the double O-rings (I hate distributor leaks), *edit* the UPR cap reducer, or the "screwdriver" tip I milled into the end of the shaft. I would not recommend this procedure at all, to anyone, unless you think a stock-type EEC-IV setup is for you (and maybe not even then.....) Dammit, there I go pic whoring again.... Do you have more pictures and information on exactly how you did the distributor? I'm putting together a street turbo BB duster and am wanting to do EFI mass air for drivability. It will be 511 cuibic inches have a S488 turbo and using a Gm 4l80e with rossler controller. so Big block mopar, Gm od trans and ford efi haha what a cluster F* but it should be a nice drive that can lay down some killer et numbers when it comes down to it.

I think those are really the only pictures, but seriously, don't waste your time. You are talking about **serious** cash to build that combo, only to have it controlled by a 30 year old junkyard computer (with a crusty old junkyard harness)? I am pretty familiar with the EEC-IV, and the genius of it, and it's capabilities (otherwise I wouldn't have tried this in the first place), but compared to how cheap you can get an old FAST or even one of those bare-bones Gen VIIs (which have W/B correction, and can log stuff, and on and on and on), it's not worth it at all, especially since you will blow your amazing budget on stupid mass air meters that might or might not work, injector drivers, and everything else you need to band-aid an EEC-IV into doing what your combo will need.

If not, I've got about 20 bottles of home brew in the garage and a $20 bill in my pocket, I'll be over with a trailer this weekend?

Hahahaha, what are you gonna do with an ugly old slabside anyway? wanting....mass air for drivability. This is the part that's wrong about your question. Mass Air does NOT equal driveability. Believe me. It does equal meter clocking, and turbulence, and a whole other bunch of crap that you may never be able to smooth out with the laptop. Food for thought.

I spent 1/2 hour looking for the old print I made of the old top-hat...I drew it long before I was a permanent fixture here at work, so it died in cyberspace somewhere. If you really, really wanna do this, it's easy: the bore is a few thou's over the O.D. of the part of the Ford distributor that goes into the block, then make the OD and hat the Chrysler distributor diameters. Leave the "top hat" part tall, then either face it or counterbore it to length once you get a screwdriver tip cut in the dizzy shaft to mate with the oil gear. If you don't wanna cut an O-ring groove, you can just use the Fel-Pro ring gasket (and pray it doesn't leak). Jeremy - How much longer would it take you to make an even 30 case?

Always love reading old threads like this.
Anthony, I bet you looked back at all the work you did and said.
" I can't believe I put that much time and effort into it"
There's shit I did a few years back you couldn't pay me to do now. This looks like one of those thing.

Hahaha, actually, I really didn't mind it at all with my car, and I'd do it again. On the other hand, look at Mike's dumb awesome Capri Shaun and I did - THAT'S one you couldn't pay me to re-do, hahahah.

Well then your just a fucking beast. haha!
Working on getting my own oversized garage and big tools to start doing crazy shit like this. Don't have a machine shop at my disposal, Guess I could use a dremel to put 'The Shocker' on valve covers.
You'll get an itch sooner or later to do something with this. Believe me!

I love this car 'cause it's just so out there. It's been my inspiration to keep wrenching on my rustbucket C body! Someday maybe mine will be as cool as this one with the wooshing sounds and tire smoke! -dave

So Shaun, after you're done welding are you going to bend some brake lines and make a billet master cylinder so Anthony can quit complaining about what doesn't work on his car?

Jeremy, if that's what it takes to get that thing and all its quad turbo glory back on the road, you fucking bet! Check your PM box. Anthony, the excuse of having no where to work on your car is not vaild. I have offerend numerous times to trailer the car BACK to the Shaunthony's HQ for some brake work! Once we get my car done lets at least do the stuff that doesnt cost money to make the car driveable (brakes, edelbrock heads).

I love how to make a car "driveable" you guys are gonna swap on some Eddy's! Guess my standards are too low! I for one would like to see this car tearing up the neighborhood streets and wowing the local yokels at cruise nights. Would be fun to get some track times too! Time to piss off a few people and put your lowbuck homebrew glory at the top of the drydock fastest list! -dave
