I see that you tig'd the aluminized steel.  I just saw that stuff on RPS and was thinking I could run that and skip buying a spool or tig for a bit.

Looks like we will have fairly similar combos too--engine wise anyway--I just put 165s and a ported Cobra intake on my car.  Im gonna try the stock cam and see how that goes.  Ill also be using the BG CUSTOM TURBO single hotside for mine.

Cant wait to see your numbers!

def just leave the stock cam in there..... if you're running a similar sized turbo as me you should have no prob making power...  The car will actually probably make some good power down low with the stocker cam.

I just tig'd my pipes because it was easier for me to tig them...  If you have access to a mig it won't be a prob at all..

I'm interested to see what it makes too... Hopefully if it doesnt rain this weekend I'll take it out for a little drive and tune;)

So I took this little hooker for a drive today Oohyah!  First time in 4 years.... I didn't go far just around the block, but the transmission that I rebuilt seems to be in perfect working order(c4) my a/f at light throttle cruise was fine.... nothing broke. I'd have to say I'm pretty happy.   I forgot how badass that locker feels when you're turning or get in it a little!!   Man spring cannot get here fast enough!!!

I need to get a charging issue fixed, and then hopefullly I can take it for a real drive.... It's still got an open downpipe so it sounds pretty gross.   I'll try to get some vid this weekend if I get it straightened out

How's this thing going so far?

Got any pics of the completed install?

How much do you have in the whole setup?

I don't have too much to update, i put the car away for the winter ( even though we're still waiting for the winter to show up in new england) but I have taken it out a couple times with no exhaust. I still have some tuning to do to it, it's too rich part throttle, and I have to tweak some of the start up tables.  I have to put exhaust on the car still before I can really drive it around.   Once I get the exhaust on I'll be able to drive it without it being so obvious.... I'll try to get some vid and pics this weekend.

not too much to update.... I haven't had much time to screw with the car since it's been cold as hell around here, and i've been working and going to class. My spring break will consist of fabbing my exhaust and trying to go through emissions though, and that's next week... Thanks to Denmah and his 331 tune I was able to use a tweaked version of that to get my car up and idling to my satisfaction.  I'm hoping next week to get the car through emissions and get it reg'd.... after that its game on, assuming nothing mech. goes wrong with it, I will get the DIS setup and the meth injection on the car and then I should be in good shape.  Since it's warming up I'll be sure to get  some pics/vid of the car after I get my exhaust finished!

ok so a little update....

I finished my exhaust.... I used 3" fox flowmaster tailpipes, they look alright on the car, not as good as the mac ones but I wanted the 3" all the way from the muffler...  As you can see I have a cat on the car now, I'm cutting the section from the cat up to the merge out, and making it so I can swap it with my exhaust cut-out... I'll snap some pics of that when I finish it.  Excuse the mess too, I haven't had time to clean up the little bs stuff with the car, I still have to figure out where I'm going to re-route my fuel lines.  The last pic that shows both tailpipes was before I got the tailpipes tightened up, they are even and look good now. As of right now I just have to roll my fender lips, fix the fuel line, put in the steering stops and check the trans pressure and then I can take it out for a first real drive.

I finally got the car to idle, I've been chasing down the idle for like 3 months off and on since its so cold....come to find out the new idle air control motor I bought was no good.. Fuck Fuck! Fuck Fuck!  isn't that a mf. I took one off an 89 fox with 140k, cleaned it and it idled perfect.  So anyone else using an AEM if you have probs with the idle thats one of the first things to check.  Hopefully with the long weekend I'll be able to get some more stuff done and take the car out.

Looks good!!. Did you have to do any modifications to the Fox tailpipes to make them fit? Also, I know you haven't driven the car a lot, but how do you like those Nittos? My car needs tires, and I think my great grandchildren will have died by the time Mickey  Thompson releases their new tires sizes (315/35/17)  Grin

I did have to mess with the tailpipes a bit... They look ok...Not perfect though.  I made the exhaust from right off the turbo, so I'm not sure with a normal cat-back where it'd put the tailpipes, but I've got the mufflers in pretty much the same spot and its close.  The car is really quiet with this setup....def doesnt sound like it could be turbo'd. The turbo is much quieter now compared to the open downpipe (obviously)

As far as the nittos go, I had 275's on my last car and loved them> They wear pretty well, they're good in the rain, and they hook better than most 17"'s   I've got 305/35/18 on the car pictured.

Two Thumbs Up!
I have a single muffler with turndown pipe. The car is very quiet outside, but the interior noise is high, so I was thinking about the 3"tailpipe, problem is that I have a panhard bar and a 3"tailpipe won't go around it on the passenger side. Maybe I'll go to dual exhaust later on with 2.5" tailpipes.
About the Nittos, who did you get them from? I have seen them on Summit Racing, but was wondering if someone else has better prices. DiscountTires.com?

I got them from discount tire direct. Cheapest prices I found. I believe the 275's are like 150-160 ea, a buddy of mine just got ordered a set from them.

well I finally got to take the car out for an extended drive today.... Over the past few weeks I replaced my engine/computer harness and rewired everything for the aem cause the harness I was using was all hacked up from it's previous owner.  I also wanted to put a/c on the car, so I used a "hybrid" accessory setup... I've got the march foxbody alt bracket, and I've got the fox water pump and timing cover, but I'm using the sn95 ps/ac bracket spaced out to line up with the fox stuff.  It works out pretty well, now I'll be able to run my sn95 a/c pump and use the march fox alt bracket.  I ended up using a 72 inch long belt with this setup.

I took the car out and ran it for a while, doing some runs on the highway at 1/4 to half throttle (still tuning)  and it was running really well.  I've got the afr in the low 11's in boost, but part throttle it's still a little on the rich side so I'm gonna have to keep logging and keep driving.  (hybrid boost comp cell by cell in vac, boost comp in boost)  I've got a few small issues to work out still, but I'm happy thus far, nothing broke and it seems to be running alright so I'm happy.  It's running on the wastegate spring right now, I was seeing 5psi max, which was pretty impressive, so I can only imagine what 10 will feel like.

I redid some of my fuel lines as well, I was running the dual inline pumps, but I didn't like using the magnaflow y-s and all that crap, it took up a lot of room and looked like shit.  I got the idea for these fuel logs from another forum member, I modified the idea some putting on the bracekts and stuff, but they seem to work fine.  I set it up so I can add a 3rd pump when I put in my dart setup.  I got a few pics of both the pulley and fuel log setup.  I have to try to go thorugh emissions before I can really take the car out and enjoy it (fucking CT)  but after that I'm hoping to get to a load bearing dyno and get part throttle perfect.

ALSO...lol I got the dynomax ultraflo setup on it, full exhaust with a cat, and its so stealth.  It sounds like a cam'd mustang at idle, and isn't bad crusing.  All you hear when I'm light throttle/cruise is hte sound of the turbo and the bov every so often.Smiley   Hopefully I'll get some vid up soon.

 welder welder welder

Well I had been living in NC for a while so not much was done to the car...however I'm back now and have been starting to iron stuff out with it...

For one, the abortion of an engine bay is going to get cleaned up and re-wired this week.. I've got the AEM EPM so I can run ls1 coils and go sequential....

While I'm installing all this I'm also going to put a diy trunk mount meth setup on the car controlled by the aem...

Once fierofiend and I complete his header build (hopefully this weekend) I'll be tearing into my car again..

AEM can control meth?

yes, it's not like pnp ready but it can and has been done with the ems....

basically how they use it is: they have the duty cycle of the pump controlled by a spare injector output, the pressure switch is used as an sw input to the aem.  From there, in the ems software you setup your boost controller as a switched input, so basically when you flip your "high" boost switch it turns on the meth, and the software is setup so it has to see the afr drop below xxafr before it'll allow your boost to increase to yoru switched max. This makes it fail-safe so if you dont' have meth, if you have a clogged filter or nozzle or something like that it won't allow the car to go to high boost because it'll either not have enough pump pressure (low meth) or if the nozzle is clogged the afr won't drop so you don't hit high boost either.

it's pretty baller.

What headers did you use for your flips?  I don't see the EGR bung so where they fox body headers?  About to order mine and need to know which ones will work the best with SN95 chassis.

Thanks
