Yeah, but the LC-1 should have came with a calibration button and led anyway.  To recalibrate my LC-1, I just hit the button mounted on my dash.

Those XD-1's are nice though.  Just a little too expensive for me.

Yeah…I forgot you could rig up a calibrate button.

I can however reprogram the LED's to any color I so choose!  Booty!

And yet...I have left the colors factory the same as when it shipped!   what the? Nut Kick

Seeing all these posts makes me like my XD-16 just that much more!  If you need to re-cal your wideband you just push the button on the gauge.

 Booty! Sweet!

recalibrating  if you have an lc-1(stand alone) requires the use of a button and it has a led that you install to let you know if its working correctly.

gbtool as for the resistors i was looking at the .pdf for the display and i figured out what it was talking about so i just need to use the 1k instead of the 10k which will scale it out, because i was thinking about it.  the other guy used the  910k and the 100k which is listed in the pdf as Ra and Rb and his read .8 when the pdf says 2.  When you look at the arrangment that we have in it it says it should read 20 so if you compare the 2 to .8 and 20 to 1.5 then it makes since that ours should read 1.5 if that makes since.  So now look at the chart where it says 200, becuase it is saying if you input 200mv the 2, 20, 200, 2000 column that is what it should read, but since the other guys was off by a decimal point i guess ours will be to. soo looking at the chart i believe i need to use the 1m and 1k which i think you sent me.  i will have to check when i get back.   Also you diagram was wrong, because there is no b+ on the back of the display that you had going to the regulator in your diagram. Fuck Fuck!  No biggie but when i get back i will change the resistor out and see what it does.

My mom died three years ago.

Well to change the mood  huh   I got it woking perfectly an tis will get gbtool confused it actually took a 100k instead of a 1k resistor, because when i put the 1k in it was .15  so i put the 100k in and it went to 15.00  well i calibrated it  and put it together.  I will hae to apologize and the not so nice pictures as my girlfriends camera is at her parents house so i was stuck with the camera on my cell phone.

Pics

Wiring up back of display(what a pain)

sorry i dont have that many assembly pics, becase alot of the pics from my phone are really fuzzy so they are unusable.

Display wired circuit board heat sink and "input" which is the silver round hole that is on the right.

Well that's good that you got it working right.  I guess the first instructions were the right way to do it after all.  So which decimal point are you using, DP2?

more pics

here is how i made the power ground and signal wire hook up all in one simple connection

Its pretty much just a head phone jack with three seperated connections on it

that shiny silver thing on the left is the screw that holds the voltage regulator to the heat sink(i couldnt find any smaller ones)

gbtool said that he was going to try to draw up a schematic for this whole thing

(Hey moderators i dont know but should we sticky this since it does work and could be real useful to people we may need to move it to DIY section now though also i should move the pics and the upcoming schematic to the front page, or i could even make a new thread over there)

I have also changed my mind about mounting location i think i am going to put the display into an old gauge that i have because i have a two gauge a-pillar and i now just have a boost gauge, so i might redo a few things to make it fit into an old gauge so that i dont have a random empty hole in my a-pillar.  See if i cant get some pics by friday.

Yeah at least someone is interested.  Oohyah!  Well you can follow the original link exactly the only difference is that where he had the three resistors in series for a total of 910k put in a 1m resistor,  you still keep the other resistor value 100k.  Also instead of hooking up the wire to dp3 hook it up to dp2  this way it will read 14.6X instead of 14.6  also to make it more compact if you want the printed circuit board from radio shack is the right size so that you can actually solder the board to the back of the display if you do this just make sure its smaller then the smallest dimensions of the display that is what i did eventually so i could mount it in a gauge.

I eventually installed the display into an old autometer volt gauge that i gutted and painted.  I would have pics, but i was taking pics with my cell phone and i had internal bluetooth on my laptop well my computer decided to mess up on me so no pics.  i will see if i cant get another camera or something to take pics.  I did install it and it does work it is pretty smooth on the readout actually it is eaisly visible in all light conditions and very eaisly readable at night with the backllit display.  i

If anyone has anyquestions just ask me or pm me just incase i missed a question in the thread.  i will see if i cant make up a little schematic or something, but this weekend is my b-day and the folks are coming down so this weekend may be out of the question.

Yeah what he said.  Just pretty much follow the instructions in the link.  I've been meaning to make up a schematic but haven't really got around to it yet.

Why go and build all this. Just buy this. look at the link below

You can buy the digital read out volt meter for ~$15 and then change around a few resistors and you are done. Hell of a lot easier and cheaper.

Are you refering to the autometer led "sweep" gauge that had diff color leds around the outside, because this reads out a digital number not a sweeping bar.  huh

No i guess you did not read the link. It is a digital voltmeter readout that has its own voltage regulator to power it. You can buy this off e bay and switch around a few resistors to make it read the right voltage and then move the decimal one place over. Plus they are small and compact.

Yeah…that was the whole reason I posted the link.  All you have to do is pick up one of these… http://cgi.ebay.com/20V-10A-DC-BLUE-LED-COMBO-Panel-Battery-Amp-Voltmeter_W0QQitemZ230093367347QQihZ013QQcategoryZ50603QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and be done with it.  I believe it even has a dip switches to adjust the decimal.

Well me personally i dont like the colored led readouts i prefer the backlite led ones like the one i made.  I really dont like my greddy turbotimer because it has red led readout, but i got it for 20 dollars so you cant really beat that.

Also i dont know why you guys are saying ohh that is stupid or why the hell would you do that just buy this.  Well this is posted in the DIY section i wasjust trying to help some people out and some of you guys are jumping all over this little display that me and gobtool took the time and money to produce not only to help me out, but you guys to.

Also this is actually cheaper then 80 dollars for that diynitrous red thing that people have posted.  i prob only have 40 dollars into this thing and it is the way i want it to be"no colored led" but has a green back light so it matches with my radio other gauges an the standard cluster gauge color because it is green.

When I made my display, I actually had all the parts I needed, so I didn't spend a dime.  Most people wouldn't have all that though.  If you look back at the pics, you'll notice that I used an old Marvel Mystery Oil bottle for a container.  You can't get much more DIY than that.  It's actually really sturdy and looks decent.
