Yeah…that was the whole reason I posted the link.  All you have to do is pick up one of these… http://cgi.ebay.com/20V-10A-DC-BLUE-LED-COMBO-Panel-Battery-Amp-Voltmeter_W0QQitemZ230093367347QQihZ013QQcategoryZ50603QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and be done with it.  I believe it even has a dip switches to adjust the decimal.

Yep it has the switch to adjust the decimal. I made mine like this and i am happy with it. I call it a smart DIY kit b/c most of the work is already done for you and it is a lot cheaper then it would cost you to buy all the other materials. But if you already do have all the materials then that would be cheaper.

So if all of you knew about this stuff how come you haven't said anything about it until now?  I did a search and didn't come up with anything.  Was it just considered common knowledge?

ok dumb question here but you need the complete lc1 or just the sensor?

Sorry man...I found it a while back on while searching the megasquirt forums.  By the time I found your thread you were already neck deep in the build.  I posted a link but no one seemed to pay much attention.  What the hell...all that work built character, right. Poke!

ya you still need the complete lc-1 kit. this is just a readout and does nothing else.

ya millhouse mentioned the easier way on page 2

Well I had mine done on page 1, but anyway, I guess I looked at that link and kinda dismissed it when I saw the LED part.  I was thinking like LED lights that don't give you an actual number, but apparently that one does.

That's information off of the innovate site..  That's probably the setup I'm going to go with since it's small.. Although it's not backlit..

I ordered two of the above link'd displays.  Hopefully I'll receive them and post pics later this week, and have it installed this weekend and let everyone know how the little 9 dollar display works Smiley

Hi Millhouse or anyone else.

I am designing my efi tuning system now based on a Mega squirt II. To get a seperate digital readout of my AFR on a dash gauge, do I need a seperate LC1 wideband? Does'nt the mega squirt read the oxygen sensors and put out voltages for AFR from these oxygen sensors. I know there is a difference between wideband and narrow band as far as reading the AFR. Sorry, I am a newb to megasquirt. It just seems like if I already have a megasquirt efi computer using oxygen sensors, cant I somehow get a reading from it for the digital AFR guage on the dash? Won't the mega squirt computer be capable of somehow converting the oxygen sensor signal to a AFR guage readable voltage? Do I need a seperate LC1 wide band because the stock ford oxygen sensors are narrow band? Would'nt the solution be to just get wideband oxygen sensors? New to all this, so a bit confused. I just want a dash gauge to see AFR when my laptop is not hooked up. And for tuning to also confirm the readings of gauge AFR to those AFR readings on my laptop. Thanks!

I plan on doing this as well with the one from the ebay auction. I will be using it with my Megasquirt and a PLX M-250 so I am sure that I will have to mod it a little since the PLX only has 1 WB output and 1 NB output. I will be running the MS off of the WB output and want to run the display off of the same output as I don't feel completely confident in the NB conversion even though it is done inside the PLX unit.

no need to know if it does work b/c it does. I have one working.  You will have to change some resistors over to get it to read the right voltage range and maybe play with the decimals.

you only need one lc-1. the lc-1 has two outputs that you can program what voltage range they output.

Awesome...  UPS thinks they'll  be here in a week, which seems like forever for shipping, but I'm looking forward to getting everything buttoned up well..  Finding 2.5mm male to male plugs to connect the LC-1 and LMA-3 was a PITA, but I got a couple of them coming too...

mystang- Did you get any pics of the gauge you made. very interested to see what it looks like.

i've seen people modify a mustang clock pod to fit the plx. so i'm thinking about doing the same for this

I was thinking about mine in the clock pod as well. I am just trying to decide which Display to buy. There is a 3.5" one and then there is a much smaller one. I will have to take the measurements this afternoon and see what I can fit in there and then order the parts.

I have the design figured out for using the existing clock pod.

I will be using this Display because of it's size and it will match my gauges. Using that display I will have to use this 5V Regulator. It will be a tight fit but I should be able to make it work and look stock.

Hi rocke,

I am new to all this and still reading about it. It sounds like I will need to use the mega squirt II for lap top tuning & AFR readings off of 2 wide band Oxygen sensors. For my digital AFR guage on the dash, I will need a seperate LC1? I am guessing both the mega squirt II and LC1 can share the same 2 wideband o2 sensors? The stock ford 5.0 oxygen sensors are narrow band, correct? I have a 1988 5.0 mustang LX hatch speed density car converting to mega squirt for my turbo project. This means I cannot simply put a Digital AFR guage on my dash using the megasquirt II and wide band oxygen sensors, correct? My goal is to have a both a digital dash AFR guage, and lap top AFR readings to confirm each other for tuning and to watch my AFR when my lap top is not hooked up. Thanks in advance for any help.

The lc-1 has two outputs. One can go to MS and one can be used for the display. You can also hook up the lc-1 up to the labtop then to program it for the voltage range output that you need. You can read more about this on there website.

I haven't had much time to work on this but I have everything but the display and that should be here in the next couple of days. I think that I have hit a pretty big road block. The PLX while having only 1 WB output is a slight issue, but can be worked around. The main problem is going to be converting the output voltage to show the correct AFR on the display. The PLX outputs 10.0 as 0v up to 20.0 as 5v. If I had a schematic of the M-300 with the on-board display I am sure that I could figure out what they did, but I have the M-250.

With that one does it require all the resistor work stated in the first link?  or just hook it up and go?

To bad it only has 10 leds. If you want a gage like that you would need like 50 leds at least.
