Hello. I'm a good hour or so away. Friday rush hour traffic makes it more like an hour and a half though. Are you going there this Friday?

THP Twin 67mm turbos with upgraded intercooler, PA AODE trans, solid rear axle, full weight car on pump gas tune with 18" wheels all the way around. I drove the car to the track, went to put the slicks on and stripped two of the 5 studs on the passenger side rear axle, put the street tires back on and figured it would stay in the 11's @ 130 something. I never would have made the pass if I knew how it was going to run with only the three studs. I just installed the return fuel system because the returnless couldn't keep up when we tried going to a high boost race fuel tune. I didn't notice how close the return line was to the u joint on the driveshaft. I was able to fix it with a hose barb and drive home with the a/c on.
The motor is pretty much stock with the exception of a main support and some sandpaper rolled heads. The car showed 845 rwhp through the automatic on pump gas on a Mustang Dyno. We are going to the track Friday night with the slicks and skinnies...same tune. Trying for sub 9.50's @ 150+ on pump gas. The car has a transbrake but I still have a stock driveshaft in it so it will be coming out easy I hope. Once I get a driveshaft, I'll come out with all she's got and try for some low 9's on pump gas.
When I say pump gas, it is 93 octane with a shot of methanol. So far so good. The car is my daily driver so I don't want to run race fuel in it. I plan on weighing it this Friday also if the scales are open. I am guessing 4000+ with me in it since it has an 8 point roll bar, full stereo, etc.

Well, we went to the track Friday night and had issues with traction. The slicks are stiff sidewalls and about 3 years old. Didn't work too well. I ended up coming out at the same rpm and aggressiveness as with the 18" BFG Drag radials. The only difference seemed to be that the 28" slicks gave me to about 1100' this time. It went 9.87 @ 144 still on the rev limiter. The tranny is pretty much done too so that will be coming out to get gone through. Now, if I only had the money to do the driveshaft and rear, I'd be set! lol

Well, my car does have an 8 point rollbar. Remember, the car is a convertible. They need a rollbar to run better than 13.50. To be honest, the best way is to really nice to the tech guy. I talked to him about how loud all of the open headered cars were (after rolling in with my near stock sounding car) and I handed him my helmet and fire suit. He asked if these cars were supercharged from the factory and I said "Yes, they are supercharged from the factory." He signed my tech card and never even looked under the hood. Never checked my battery disconnect or tranny safety switch. The next time it was another guy. He looked under the hood but didn't have a clue what he was looking at. He was an old school chevy guy. He looked for a coolant overflow and looked in the trunk for the battery. I ran a 19.XX on the first pass because it launched poorly and then I did about 30 mph until the 1/8 mile mark and laid into it and it went 122. I got my timeslip from the woman at the booth and she said I was sleeping on the line (spooled the turbos on the transbrake). I laughed and agreed. Next pass, it went 9.87 @ 144.7 on the rev limiter. I thought for sure I was done. She looked at the timeslip and said that I did better on the tree with a .300 light but I need to get better! lol I agreed and she even said at least I went 9's. She handed me the slip and back up I went. I hot lapped it and the tranny slipped and blew out fluid on the top end and only went 10.40 @ 140.
I am going to put a huge transcooler with fan on and switch to 3.31 or 3.27 gears to keep it off of the rev limiter. I am going to try and have it ready for Atco to run True Street. I want to try and run 10.0's on every pass on 18" drag radials. I need to get the car ready and get to the track to see what it's going to run. I'm guessing it will go into the 9's on these tires. I'll just set it up with less boost to try and run 10.0's. It sucks that the car isn't legal to run 9's and I can't see putting in a 10 point with it being a convertible that I drive every day. If the tranny holds up, I hope to do a racefuel tune and turn up the boost and try to get the car as close to the 8's as possible. It's going to be tough though because I will probably only get one run before they throw me out. I'll be going to all of the tracks that are remotely near me to make changes to try and get it to ET better. lol

RC 72's. They are pretty much maxxed out. I had a returnless setup on it and couldn't make the power I wanted so I pulled it and switched to a Weldon setup that is return style.
