So here is how it went (I'll post vid's and graphs in the next day or two).... The first run with tune right off the street came out to be 468.84hp@5000 rpm with the torque I believe in the 440 range. My tune was a bit off with both fuel and spark and the guys at VT engines were VERY helpfull! After several tuning runs in which I adjusted the fuel quite a bit, along with bumping the timing up 4* across the board I ended up with 489hp@5000 rpm and 527lbs torque @ ~ 4500rpm. The torque curve as expected is very broad, and I was eperiencing some odd spark breakup past 5200rpm. The graphs cut off at 5400 rpm even though I pulled past 6k. In the end though, as expected the small housings sputter out past 5k RPM even though the cam wants to keep on pulling to 6k.

Congrats,
How much boost?
8lbs Are you running the msextra firmware still? I'm running the msextra high res code. It helps quite a bit when your idle pulsewidths are below 2.5 (mine were in the 1.7 range).

Congrats on the numbers again Millhouse.
Off topic question for you, I *BELIEVE* I remember reading a thread of yours where you were talking about having to cut your BOV spring(thinking you have the tial style 50mm). If so, how much did you have to cut? I'm getting a little compressor surge and while I have the bumper cover off im going to go ahead and cut some off my spring to help with it. Thanks!

Thanks!...and yes, that was me. What I did was hook up the vacuum line to the bov with the car running...but disconnected from the system. I then manually articulated the BOV piston and felt the tension. What I wanted to do was cut enough coils off so that it remained closed while seeing idle vauum, but remained very easy to articulate at the same time. Just start cutting off a half of a coil at a time and repeat as necessary. Different idle vacuum will require different tension on the valve.

Update: Just a fun little update. While having some fun on the street I found that I was suddenly low on boost (down to 3-4psi) she was lethargic as all hell. Come to find out I had a coupler that was almost completely blown off of the intercooler inlet with my merge pipe. After hooking everything back up….I was suddenly running 12lbs of boost!!!!! So for the better part of the last 3+ years I have been overspinning the turbo’s making only 8lbs….all while bleeding out 4lbs!!!! I feel fairly strongly that is likely the cause of my 5000+rpm drop-off on the dyno. I thought before I had a fairly low amount of lag…but now, holey sh!!!t!!!!!!! I'll try to get some track and dyno updates sometime this year (after my shoulder heals from surgergy).

Sweet. Nothing like tightening some loose connections and making more hp without costing you a penny. Keep us updated and get some video down the track. Cheers.
