No huge progress, but progress none the less. got sick of looking at the 33 year old paint in the trunk area, and the countless raw metal areas where I removed brackets, & excessive seam sealer. So it was time to cover it all up and make it match! drivers/passenger compartment next!

Also got some LED lights laid out, for them late night ice refills.

Nope, thinking the side/side clearance was tight!

How old was that build? Cylinder has a mirror finish to it.

has about 35 street miles, and 5-6 dyno pulls, then 5 hits on a track!

It was dropped off at the machinist today, hope to have some answers in a week or two.

Doesn't look like side clearance to me. Kinda looks like bearing clearance. Keep us updated, inquiring minds want to know!

what would seem like a reasonable s/s clearance? .025?

I would expect angry journal surfaces if it lost oil pressure. But why did it lose oil pressure?

Anything over .010" should suffice in most engines assuming the crank radius isn't getting too close to the rod bearings.

Like Disney said, .010, and up is pretty typical on a steel rod. Pressure isn't usually an issue with side clearance.

If all the other rod bearings look good I would start to suspect that the bearings were a tad tight on that journal.
