Also got a little update on the motor, it’s currently getting balanced, and the deck has been checked. He’s gotta clean up the lifter bores and check the clearances, then I should be able to pick it up. Hopefully 2 weeks or so.

I also got a box in from AFR, the heads are finally here after 22 weeks. 5EC51060-5919-400F-94E2-CF5627592B7C.jpeg #ad

Were getting closer on the chassis, and the engine is getting further behind, SMH!! machine shop called and said the lifter clearance is too big, and I’m gonna have to bush them!

Thanks. Just trying to keep truckin. Lifter bushings should be here next week. See how long it takes for the install.

it sucks, I’m kinda bummed. But oh well, that’s the way this racing deal goes. Just gonna keep prepping the chassis.

Why not just go .875" or .904" lifters instead of bushings to keep smaller .842" lifters in the engine?

Is there a good source of Chrysler (904) lifters right now? Everything I've been reading has been controversial on if there are new, real Johnsons out there or if the market's just full of counterfeit garbage.

I already have the .842 lifters unfortunately. Took 14 weeks to get those.

I assumed this combo would be getting a solid roller cam, not a hydraulic roller. I couldn't see any benefit to running a hydraulic roller in a SBC in an engine of this caliber.

Rewired the front headlight and running light harness, and tucked in all up fairly clean.

Bought a new battery charger, to prevent my 14v battery from completely dying. Turns out, I was too late, and it was super dead! Took 3 days of trying to mess with it, ended up borrowing a adjustable voltage charger from a buddy, to finally get it charged up enough, for the 14v charger to recognize it, and start charging it up till 14.5ish.
